Nokia 7250 / 7250i

7250i and TMobile, good combonation
I purchased my Nokia 7250i directly from NokiaUSA. It arrived with generic Nokia firmware, i put in my TMobile SIM and it worked flawlessly. Updating the MMS and SMS settings with the TMobile website was easy, as were the WAP settings.
I was initially put off by the size of the screen. Coming from a SonyEricsson Z600 and T610 i was used to a larger screen with richer colors. After using it for some time though i've not found it to be a big problem. The screen is easy to see in all lighting situations. The screen does greatly limit how pictures taken with the built in camera look. I must say this is one phone where the pictures look MUCH better on my PC than they do the phone.
The RF of the phone seems to be right up there with the best of them. The phone grabs a signal and hangs onto it and seems to be able to produce error free audio in low signal areas and handles hand-offs without too much mess.
Sound quality of the phone is a mixed bag. Outgoing sound is excellent. The phone does a good job of picking up my voice as well as filtering out much of the background noise when in a crowded locale or auto. Incoming audio is loud enough, but just a bit on the dirty side. It's certainly acceptable, just not as good as the motorola V600 for example. WHereas some phones seem to put in their own amount of "white noise" on outgoing audio, the Nokia seems to have none, as well as very little side-tone, maing for a decent overall combination.
All of the functions of the phone work well and are very nokia-like in their operations. Anyone used to a Nokia product will feel at home with this phone.
The included blue changable cover did not fit as well as one might hope. The keypad center 4-way direction key fit a bit on the tight side. A little customizing with an emory board and all was well.
The phone used Nokia HotPop connector at the bottom so your old nokia ear-phones will NOT fit, but your nokia charges will.
All in all a decent phone.
PACKS A PUNCH
I am pretty pleased with my new phone, I was carrying the little nokias: ie; 8290, 8390. i am disappointed in the signal strength compared to what i have had for so long, so now i'm good at balancing it on a window sill. the screen is disappointing when taking pics. It is a good phone for all the things it has built in. I love the speakerphone, who needs bluetooth?! size and weight are great. I'm just waiting for my service provider to get gprs to use all these extra features. The only other con is when i change the background pic a lot it shuts off. also when i try to plug in into a data cable it shuts off! BOO!.
Best Compac Pix Phone

almost a flawless handset
I'm a singapore user of nokia & i know many of u will say that this phone is an upgraded version from nokia 7210 like what i've heard from many of my peers. but don't u think that nokia iz juz being innovative but not creative. this phone has menu animation & larger memory pool. i juz can't believe that it has 5Mb of space (that's able to store me about 450+ photos!) when i bought this handset. it has everything i need: radio, mms, gprs, polyphonic tone, camera, 'go to' shortcut menu, etc. however, it would be better to have a 65k colours or more screen for better quality viewing of pictures even though i dun mind about the colours as i was desperately thinking of having a colour phone at that time.
