Give It A Chance

Jun 20, 2010 by beth0301

I admit that I hated it at first because it was so different and hard to get used to. I knew I had 30 days though so I committed to giving it a chance and I'm so happy that I did.

I am not your typical business user. I'm just someone that insists on using ONE program to organize everything (I choose Outlook)

My needs list included (so I guess these are Pros as it meets them all):

A better than average camera
T9 with word prediction & word correct (change dont to don't, etc)
a clear bright screen
large keys
threaded conversation sms
easy to use email
Must sync with Outlook for contacts, Calendar & Notes
Good sound quality
Had to be well made & feel solid - I wanted a phone that would last my full 2 year contract

This phone meets all those needs and once I took the time to figure it all out, I'm very happy with it.

I did end up doing a hard reset a couple of times because I didn't like the way I initially set up my email and it won't let you delete out accounts once they are set up. I advise you set the email up first before you spend to much time on other personalization just in case you need to reset like I did.

Nothing is perfect so here are my cons:

The keys don't stay lit up long enough. I text at night a lot and they go dark very quickly if you hesitate. The setting on this only allows them to stay lit for 5 seconds which is not enough time for me if I need to think about what I'm saying, sneeze or pause for any reason. That one is really a pain.

SOME of the text is too small. Honestly there weren't any smart phones out there that were better, and some were worse, so I guess this is the norm.

The battery life is horrible. I'm used to charging nightly but this doesn't even make it through the day - definitely need a car charger or spare battery for this phone

They only give you one cord that doubles as a charger and a phone sync cord. I will need to buy another rather than dragging this one around everywhere.

Slap a ring on this piece.

I am a person who does not keep phones for a long time. I have had almost every phone with multiple carriers. The only high end recent phone I havent owned is the moto driod. I get tired of phones quickly. This phone is one of the best phones I have ever used. It is the first phone I have seen myself using for a year plus which I have never done. I like windows mobile and like everyone else grew tired of it. This iteration of the OS is solid and different from touchflo which is nice. Use LG's today screen setup. I normally hate LG's however this is a good phone. The only huge issue I have with the phone is the lack of apps which is a windows mobile issue. I will list pros and cons below.

Pros:
- Big keyboard
- nice screen
- less laggy than other windows mobile phones
- good camera even though no zoom sucks
- finger scanner is cool
- solid iteration of an os that is more open than given credit for.
- battery life is ridiculously good for me.

Cons:
-lack of apps in windows marketplace.
- no 3mm head phone jack
