Good so far

Jun 26, 2010 by Netagene

I've had this phone a week. I'm changing from a home phone and Sprint (AT&T has become a pain; Sprint, which I've had for years, is great) to exclusively cell, and bought this phone from WM. I am 66 years old, and I mostly just need talk (not text or internet), as I am high partial legally blind. This phone has much more things than I'll ever use!

Pros: good clear screen;
Can change the font size (great for low vision);
Keys are slightly raised (great for low vision or for those who might dial in the dark!);
Can change from icons to list (also easier for low vision to navigate).

I even figured how how to use the internet, but with the small screen (and low vision - duh!), unless absolutely necessary, I won't use it. But I DID try it and was able to go to google and look up a couple of things. Very clear and easily readable. And I'm not a texting person so haven't tried thatm nor the WT and PTT.

Cons: Sound is a bit "tinny" and I haven't figured out how to make that and the ringer louder.
Also, may be our terrible heat right now, but I wish the battery lasted a bit longer.
As usual, some parts of the instructions (book and actual) have not been too clear.

Coverage here in Birmingham, Alabama is good.

Over all, so far, a good little phone.

Great Phone

Bought this beauty at Walmart for $39.88 last week.
I've been using Boost for awhile on several different phones.(Both CDMA and Iden)
I must admit that this is a nice phone.
I wish it had a camera and a belt clip holder but for the price, I can't complain.

Reception is "DA BOMB"!!!!! Boost's Iden phones (Nextel) are the only phones that I get any signal with at my house. (Full Strength)

I love the walkie talkie. And the battery seems to be better than previous Iden phones.

If you're looking for a great BASIC phone, this is it.

Hope this helps.

:-)

Motorola I410

I just got this new boost flip phone with direct connect. This is a very basic phone with a decent camera. The speaker on this phone is okay, not the best a little tinny but for the price (59.95) it is a steal. The phone is not as tough as the i580 but it is a very solid phone. You can use this phone with Boost or Nextel just switch the sim chip. The battery last a long time, you only have to charge it every 3 days with heavy use. The I410 also has bluetooth that can be used with direct connect not just regular phone calls, it also pulls a great signal. In my opinion this is a great phone for the money but if you need a very rugged phone go with the I580.

Pros

Small flip design
camera
direct connect
battery life
price

Cons
none
