A Great Phone

Nov 30, 2011 by lnward87

I had the original Droid Phone that came out which I loved very much but had to give up because I switched carriers. Even though this is an AT&T Go Phone I am using it with the carrier PureTalkUSA that runs on the AT&T backbone. It sounds great and I rarely drop a call.

This particular phone was the best bang for the buck in getting back into the Android world. I really can't say enough about it and have even convinced a non-smart-phone friend to feel the need to buy one!

PROs:
* I like the size because it's still comfortable in a pocket.
* If you are familiar with Droid you will feel right at home.
* Signal works great
* Uses WiFi

CONs:
* Not the best camera but it will do in a pinch - but that's really what my camera is for.
* Sometimes the Gallery is slow to load.
* Can't remove the pre-installed applications but I can live with that.

I just really highly recommend this for an inexpensive smart-phone.

GREAT PHONE ... Better than expected

LG Optimus line has really done it self, especially for being an entry level smartphone.

I have had the LG Thrive for ATT Pre Paid version. Although I have a Post Paid account, I just simply bought this phone, popped in my sim card and continue to use it under my contract account. This is a great device. The call quality is amazing.
It runs the latest 2.2 Android OS and is great! There were little to no lag on the screen. Although the feel of it felt cheap, the phone priced is cheap, so you get what you pay for, in a way. It was made cheap, but works like a 5 star Samsung Galaxy type phone. Camera could do better, but satisfied nonetheless. Texting is a breeze, no problems there.

Anyway I loved this phone so much, I returned the LG Thrive and ordered the Post Paid LG Phoenix version for two reasons.. Wifi and because I like the Blue color better than silver

PROS
Screen is very bright
Light Weight
FM Radio
2.2 Android OS
Call Quality
Loud Ringtones/Strong Vibration
Little to No Lag
Touch Response is good/can be better
No Call Drops
Customazible backgrounds

CONS
Battery could be better
Camera needs some work
Structure feels cheap
Glass feels plastic

Great Phone My only issue is the Camera!

I recently purchased the LG Thrive and the phone works very well. I have had the phone for two weeks so far. The only down fall is the videos can only be taken in VGA (which is very choppy). The camera however, is nice. You can take pictures using a 3.2 mega pixel. Of course, it can't top a digital camera with a flash but the pictures are still pretty decent. I also don't believe that there is a side button to allow you to take your own picture while you hold the phone. That sucks because it isn't that easy to hold the phone and click on the shutter button located on the screen while taking a pic of yourself! The screen doesn't give you the option to flip the camera view around either. Other than that the phone is good. This phone has the loudest ringer I ever had on a phone too which is a plus. The touch screen is also very responsive.

No Signal

I received my L.G. Phoenix From At&t L.G. –p505-v10e I like the way the phone works and the menus, but I do not get any signal. The phone will ring but it does not ring in to my phone or show I have a missed call. I have had two phones that do the same thing. It does it to me all over Texas. This phone just does not get a good signal!!!!
