Spectacular for the money
I switched from my iphone4 to this phone. I was tired of how dependent on my iphone I was becoming. Anyways, about this phone. I paid $20 at target, and I am thoroughly impressed. If you are looking for a phone that does voice and texting only, this is the phone to get.
Pros:
1. Phone OS and layout are fluid. For a small cheap phone it feels like a lot of thought went into optimizing the menu.
2. T9 texting input, for me it's almost as fast as my iphone.
3. 20 day battery life!
4. No Signal quality problems.
Cons:
1. The only con I have found is someone I was calling told me the voice quality on this phone was worse than the iphone. Could be a simple mic upgrade.
Overall I rate this phone a 5 because I couldn't as for anything more from a $20 phone. I love my new phone.
Great phone with one drawback
This phone works great for texting and calling with a standard keypad, since you can use T9 to avoid being too slow (Its worth learning if you aren't used to it). Plenty of user memory for basic phone - 46 MB. The only drawback is that it doesn't receive picture messages - you don't even get any text that was sent minus the pic. You will not know anyone even tried to send you a message if it contains a picture or any other media. Some phones at least give the message and say that the pic wouldn't transfer or that it could be retrieved online. I've had plenty of cheap non-camera phones before (cheaper than this one) and they all could receive pic messages even though the phone tself couldn't take pics. Pics messages are not just a matter of fun. Sometimes people text an important message (like "I'm done can you pick me up now?", "appt was cancelled", etc.) and decide to throw in a pic for fun or even to convey the message (like a "closed" sign on the storefront). Well, with this phone you won't get any of those messages. You will have to tell everyone not to send any messages that have pics in them if they want you to get them.
Pros: Nice display, enough basic memory, easy to use, long battery life.
Cons: Potential communication misses because MMS (multi-media messages) have been barred from this phone. I'm baffled why AT& made this decision.
