I'm a newbie and somewhat basic, but I love this phone
Gotta start off by saying that I've been stuck with a work issued Nextel for the last 8 years and this is my first smart phone. Got it through Metro PCS. I've read a couple pro reviews, and they didn't really seem to think much of this phone. Heard things about screen brightness and call quality. I guess the pros are REALLY picky, because I don't see any issues with either of those things.
For me, and this being my first smartphone, I love it. Only had it for about a week so far, and I don't know what took me so long to get a smartphone.
I guess maybe the big name expensive brands are probably better in some way, but looking at the $150 price tag and no contract service through Metro PCS, I cannot complain. And actually, even if it cost more, I wouldn't complain. This phone is awesome. I have no idea how I got by without one for so long.
The only thing that I would change on the phone would be to make the ringer louder. Doesn't ring loud enough to really hear across my house or while its in my pocket. If you are in a crowd, you probably won't be able to hear it.
Other than that, it is great. I don't know how much faster someone would need a phone to act, as this only has a 800 processor, but to me, it acts totally fine. I suppose if you were huge into big time apps and things like that, you might need a faster phone. But for me, Youtube videos, emails, etc all load and transition just fine.
The 4G network is pretty fast, and the wi-fi connection is smoking. Get off either one, and things move slow. But lucky for me, most of the time I'm in 4G territory.
Bottom line: If you are getting into the smartphone market for the first time, you will not be disappointed with this phone.
Pros : Everything (except the ring volume)
Cons: Quiet ringtone volume.
