It’s like having a pocket laptop with you at all times (but there is no need to log on)
Data is encrypted for safe use (so they say).

You can back up your contacts by syncing it with computer.
(Check out http://www.webmessenger.com for adding IM, AOL, ICQ chat services to your device.)

Qwerty keypad is a blessing for SMS, email and chat
Overall a fantastic - all in one device. SMS, Phone, Internet, Email, PDA…

One week use on single charge = and the best part is = there is no need to turn off the device. I love how intuitive the device is and since I’m internet addict, I can’t leave home without it.

Suggested improvements: Lacking more games.
Its Desktop manager is not very intuitive. Sometimes you have to check its manual (but then again I don’t have to sync it for days)

I wonder again??? If I got a bad unit

I got this phone as a replacement to my BB Before, believe 7130 or something like that and was on Alltel at the time. When this phone was first new it worked spectacular. I loved the Memo Pad, and the Mail app was simply AMAZING. But then soon after it stopped charging. I'd plug it in and not see the lightning bolt. I thought, at first, this phone may not've had it, but my past model did. When I inserted the charger I didn't see the lighting bolt when I first got this phone, but I never got it, and it was left on over night.

Well about a week after having it not charge and ALMOST taking it back, it started charging like it should have and worked amazingly as it always had. It worked amazingly for 3 more months, until I got the crossed lightning bolt in the corner.

I tried to take it apart to look at charge port, but scraped & broke the screen in the process, so basically left this phone because of it breaking. It was my last BB and I will probably go back to them. But since this worked magnifficently when it did, I HAD to have rate it high (with a little taken off because of the charger issue) everything was awesome. I was on Alltel for work, but switched to a different carrier (AT&T) and got an iPhone 3G, and a RAZR for personal usage.

If you can get this phone 7250 (because the 7250 review I already did) and the 80 was the closest to it, so posted under that.

Second Crackberry after having the good ol' 5810 for I forgot how many years.

Honestly, when I originally got the Berry, it had it's fair shares of problems. The phone application would freeze everytime I called someone and hit voicemail. Then, it would abruptly lose signal and then would go on searching for the network without ever finding it, then would go "No Service"... in a place that has excellent Rogers coverage.

I almost gave up on it out of frustration until I found JL_Cmdr. Swiped the Berry clean, installed the latest version of the firmware... still had some problems, which interestingly, were fixed with a simple hard reset.

It's been running strong and most importantly flawlessly for months now, and I must say I am VERY pleased with the overall quality of the 7280. Whenever it's the email, phone, PDA front, hats off to RIM for this solid, very well-rounded offering.

PROS:
- Sound quality is very good
- GREAT battery life
- Rock-solid tried, tested and true RIM email integration

CONS: Nothing major that I can think of. It just works, and works damn well.

Email, Phone, organizer, all in one

This is my second 'berry, having had the older, phoneless version.

This is one of those hard reviews to write, because there's nothing negative to say about the system. It just works, well. Email and calendar integration with our company's system (MS Outlook) is seamless. The phone works well. The battery lasts a very long time -- I've never measured it, but don't think I've done more than two recharges per week even with heavy phone usage. When it's just email use, the battery lasts longer.

Well, i am a first user of a smart-phone.
I bought this phone cause i am always busy and needed something to help me organize so i search for a phone and this is what i got.

I dont suggest that anyone that is intending to get a perfect phone that this will do it for them.

Why?

The only good thing about this phone is the keyboard, but how many other phones dont have a keyboard now right! The ring-tones are horrible, not loud enough, and when you set the vibe and ring tone. It vibes first then ring then vibe, it does not keep good track of your calls. Who called, what call did you miss or even remind you that u missed a call. The phone book, terrible.
You 1st need to go to your address setting them click then sms phone book then it downloads Its horrible" I dont recommend it to anyone if all you want is a phone for INTERNET or messaging its fine, but if your looking for something reliable n fund up grade to the treo's or the new 8700 blackberry, or anyother phone with alot more than this!
