Excellent samsung Phone
This phone is excellent, it has the perfect balance of size to weight ratio, and just fits in yoru hand. The slide mechanism is very fluid and smooth and just feels like the extension of your hand. The screen is beautiful with its 262K Colours and the QVGA resolution is BIG. The buttons have a very soft feel, and are very tactile and repsonsive. It uses the Typical Samsung OS, similar to that of the samsung E900. This phone is pure fun in a small package. It has changeable skins, tones, menu's, you can even have writing for number input and a sticky note number instead of typical numbers when you dial out.
Pros:
Sleek design, very fluid and thin mechanism.
Comfortable buttons.
Bump to help raise and lower slide.
MP3 ringers.
White/Black/Red colours
excellent camera quality
clear screen
cons:
Tall, could be a lil shorter
Battery cover is sticky
can scratch (invest in screen protector)
unsure about warranty in NOrth America
900/1800/1900 no 850mhz missing band for NA
Overall this is a great phone, clear, simple, well designed, just make sure your area uses at least 900/1800, not just 1900
Great Phone!
I switched from my nextel phone to this phone. Just didnt need the direct connect anymore. Wanted something sleek, light and a slider type. I saw this and the other slider from samsung. I choose this one because it has a sleek design and the picture quality is great.
PROS:
-light weight
-sleek
-Very easy to use functions
-80mb built in mem card
-blue tooth functions
-huge display
-display itself is very clear
-MP3 player
-battery life
CONS:
-lags a little
-not as loud as i thought it would be
-speaker phone isnt as loud as i thought
-no extra slot for mem stick
-when taking a pic, after the snap shot, u have to stay still for a sec to let it capture the pic.
-games arent too much fun.
CONCLUSION:
All in all, i luv this little phone. Its not too small and its not too big. Im currently using it on Tmobile service and it works very well. Great phone from samsung.

this phone looks amazing because of its slim and sleek look but it is big! the screen should be bigger but the buttons take up so much space. i have a SGH-E720 samsung and all the functions of that phone is on the 520, but there isnt much og a change, there might but one or two more personalizing functions on the 520 but it is not "wow!".i jus dont see the difference in the two phones.

-not enough personalizing functions like the sony ericssons
-bad reception at times
-kinda lags
-too big
