Dataquest

Does anyone know when Sprint is going to offer EVDO like Verizon Wireless is starting up February 1st? That new VCAST is gonna give Sprint some competition in the $15.00 unlimited data department.

are you crazy?! VZ has Sprint tossin' cookies after that.... of course, I can talk with experience because I was a Senior Rep at VZ and I'm now with Sprint.. (moved to Oklahoma) the FCC dont take kindly to companies having 100% Top MSA Coverage.... Monopoly is a board game and thats how they'd like to keep it.

But the speed makes a huge difference when it comes to video. MobiTV is... jerky - at best. I've seen VCast, and it's real video that's actually watchable.

Plus the video doesn't cost extra, unlike Sprint that nickels-and-dimes you for each and TV channel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not biased. I just call it like I see it, and there's no simply no question that VCast sets a new standard for mobile video - in terms of both quality and cost.

Sprint will have a golden opportunity to compete when they do launch EV-DO (which should be soon). Hopefully they will respond with something even better. There's nothing quite like a good ol' industry dogfight! 😉
