Hey all, I'm currently a normal customer with Sprint and have been since about '98. Right now my account is under my Dad's name, since I didn't have credit back then. Well I recently got a job that offers corp discounts and was thinking of switching to Verizon because my current phone (Samsung a460) doesn't get service in some of the building's I work in (this is in north Kansas City mind you) 👿 and i want to try out ring tones and such. Pretty much all my friends and family use sprint, because Verizon isn't offered back home. The plan i'm on now doesn't include any type of free calling to other sprint users, so calls to 3/4 of the people i talk to during peak hours come out of my mins.

Current sprint users can get the discounts, ...

Hi;

That's a few questions, let me see if I can help you by answering a few.

First of all, you can add "sprint to sprint" on to your plan for $5/mo unlimited calling to or from other sprint phones, not using your minutes up.

No need for "hoops", corp discounts are done thru Business customer service, their # is 877-812-1223 call them direct. You will need to have your own acct with your social to apply.

Open a new acct under your name/social, Get a new phone, get your corp discount, try it for 14 days risk free! (30 days in Cali) if it doesn't work out for you, you can cancel, return phone & only pay for the days you used.

If I had the "sprint to sprint" to my current plan, will it reset my contract? I'm not doing anything that resets it just yet, till I work this reception problem out.

Also I know that I can go to a store and switch the account to my name and social, so I really wouldn't have to open a new account to get the discount right?

Ok, so it's not like 10 hoops, but you gotta have supervisors name, address, and phone number, and proof of employment. Not to bad I guess, just I'm in training, so I don't really have a direct supervisor yet.

Also, why does a phone from the corp discount page cost more than from the normal consumer page? All the phones are like 20-30 bucks more. What a jack.

I guess it all just boils down to I want to try a ...

Adding an option/feature to your account like PCS to PCS (sprint to sprint) may require a contract change, you have to be on a 2yr Advantage Agreement to be able to enjoy this discount.

Switching an account from one name to another requires both parties to go into a Sprint store to do a "transfer of liability"

Most Phones on the "business" page are actually cheaper than on the "consumer" page, have a look again.

Botton line, get your dad to add a "new line of service" (2nd phone) to his account, try out your new phone, if it doesn't work out, cancel & return it within 14 days, it all is good do the "transfer of liability" into your name.

Ok, our accounts are a little screwy. I have my account under his name, and then he has an account under his business name with 3 phones on that account. So I would be adding the second phone to "my" account right? So if I do that, and decide it doesn't work out, my original line contract won't get changed or anything right? Thanks man.
