What Changed?
I have had sprint for 3 years now. I use text messages all the time. About a month ago my phone started recieveing all texts from other carriers with a 1 in front. ex 1-555-555-5555. So now unless its from a sprint customer then it doesnt show the name from my contacts list. By the way I have a MM7400. what gives?

Yeah. It happened to me too. Whenever I get text messages, it only shows the phone number of the person who sent it, even if they are in my phonebook... unless they are Sprint customers (not unlike voicemail).

Well I'll tell you this. If you go in and put a #1 in front of your non Sprint contacts then it will show their names also. This stinks and I hope sprint will correct it. Because if you add a #1 to the Sprint contacts, it will screw them up.

Just talked to Sprint Cust Serv. Turns out they updated their txt svc for international text and that affected the non Sprint numbers. Rep says that they dont plan to fix it and that I just have to change all my non sprint contacts to have a #1 in front and Sprint contacts cannot have a #1. Not a big deal but still a hassle just the same
