Thinking Of Switching

I am currently a Verizon customer, however my contract is due to end during the month of August. Verizon has done away with the Unlimited plan that I have and was wondering what T-Mobile can offer me technology wise that say Sprint or even ATT can.

Thanks

I just have to get this out of my system.

I worked for T-Mobile for 4 years and recently left the company.

They are the single most dishonest and evil companies I've ever dealt with.

I will never deal with them again.

I would go into more detail, but it may not be appropriate.

Buyer beware. This company is one of the worst in existence.

TMO Monthly 4G plans

TMO has a $30/Month 100 minute unlim text & web plan available online.
I'd like this plan but not with any of the phones they offer with it.
To activate one of these plans you need a SIM card (obviously), a prepaid code (from the box the phone came in), and the IMEI number from the phone.

These three things minus the SIM lead me to think if I provided my own phone, say an HTC One S without the prepaid code and IMEI being attached to that monthly 4G plan. That I wouldn't be able to get the plan phone combo? 😕
Or could I just order the $2 SIM and than call in and activate the $30 plan with another smartphone not on that plans list?

Clear as mud? Thought so. 🙂

Prepaid Vs. Postpaid Data

So can anyone tell me what kind of speeds one can expect on a Prepaid 4g T-Mobile Data Plan? I know some companies slow the data speeds of their Prepaid customers. I am currently on T-Mo Postpaid and I am clocking 6.17Mbs on Mobile data on a Mytouch 4g (stock). So.... Anyone?

Anyone with connection to T-Mobile have substantive info on when the latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), might roll out onto eligible devices?

Warrany with custom rom

I have been using a LG G2x for the last 3 months or so. I have rooted the phone and have been using a custom rom for the last 2 months.

Yesterday the display on the phone stopped working. It will respond to the touch but I can't see anything.

I called T-mobile yesterday and they are sending me a replacement.

The problem that I am having is that I can't see the display so I can't flash my stock backup rom.

If I send the phone to them will they be able to see that I have flashed a custom rom to the phone? Will they even check for this?

The person I spoke with at T-mobile said as long as there is not any physical damage or the water damage indicator is white they will replace the phone.

I don't want to send my phone back to t...

Changing the lock button?

I was wondering if it's possible to change the assignment of the lock button on this phone? I am having a real problem with it going off in my pocket after locking it...

Maybe not just changing to lock button, but adding a step or a password to unlock or something just so it doesn't hinge on that one button.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Talk and Surf

Is it true that you can NOT talk and surf with TMo? And that you can not be on the phone and send a pic??? I was seriously considering switching but I like being able to multi task.

Insurance Options - TMO or other?

Does anyone recommend getting insurance through TMO or is there a separate company you recommend? Just got a Galaxy S II but it cannot be added to my policy as State Farm will not cover cell phones.

T-Mobile’s Valentine’s “Cupid’s Arrow Hits Mark” Day Sale was a Rip-Off

Wanted a Samsung Galaxy S 2 (T989). It was free after mail in rebate. I didn't find out the particulars of the fine print until after I went in the store regardless of having searched for information on their main webpage. While there I was told that I had to buy at least an unlimited 5GB plan. Afterwards, I found the following online ad - http://www.tmonews.com/2012/02/t-mobiles-vale ntines-cupids-arrow-hits-mark-day-sale-is-tod ay-only/.

So let us do the math in contrasting the total two year cost between TMobile and Simple Mobile.

TMobile Total 2 year cost:
24 months * $89.99 per month * (between %12 and %18 tax and fees in GA, I will use the median %15) + $35 activation fee = $2518.73.

SimpleMobile
24 months * $60 (inclusive of ...

Acquisition?

This is a redundant question, but does anyone think that T-Mobile will get acquired by another carrier post November 24th?

Kudos!

I am an avid Sprint customer, but if I weren't, I would definitely get T-Mobile. I'm so glad big blue didn't absorb you guys. I'm also glad Sprint & T-Mobile still exist to provide an alternative to the big two. I hope TMO has a banner year! 🙂

Phone Price INCREASE after release?!?!

For those a little familiar with how the cell phone market works (though I thought I was pretty informed up until this weekend), is it likely for the retail price of a phone to go up several months after it has been release?

I tried to take advantage of TMobile New Year's sale this past weekend to finally get my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S II but the requirement to migrate to one of their value plans stopped me. That said, TMobile store rep who talked to me stated that the price of the phone was going to go up? 😳 and this seemed odd to me since the release date was last October. Note sure if she was just trying to make the sale 🙄 (I appreciate that things are not great post failed merger w/ AT&T) or if what she sta...

Samsung Gravity TXT microSDHC problem

I have a Samsung Gravity TXT (T379) that I just installed a Sandisk 8GB microSDHC memory card. The memory card icon appears on the phone's icon bar indicating that the memory card has been detected. But when I try to take a picture I get the following error message: 'Not enough memory. Delete some items'. I have removed the phone's battery for a minute or so hoping that would correct the problem. No help. Does anyone know how to solve this problem so the microSDHC will work?

Anyone else noticed?

The level of customer service has SERIOUSLY seemed to have gotten worse ever since the proposed acquisition announcement. I've never had so many little issues with my service and have had repeatedly encoutered incompetent customer service and technical support reps. I mean...I know I'm not the only one, one of my co-workers was advised that she in fact DOES use her data while on wi-fi and it simply makes her data speeds faster, by a "supervisor"...wtf!?! I mean NO OFFENSE if you're a T-Mo rep and I hope this does not apply to you, but what is the deal? 👿

T-Mobile USA

Did it ever occur to you that, Deut. Telecom could abandon the US wireless division and put you in the hands of a hedge-fund investor out only to make a dollar? You think the investor is thinking about you or the bottom line?

ATT is going to lay everyone off!!!

Truly sorry for those that work for T-Mobile. 😢
Spoke to a buddy who works in a NOC and they've already received their letters advising them of their choices.
1. Quit now and get $1500 in two payments.
2. Ride it out until the end, same $1500 + severance package. Example $26k for 9 years of service.
Apparently ATT is going to sell all T-Mobiles assets to 3rd world countries, towers, antennas, etc.
All ATT wants and needs is T-Mobile frequencies!
He did say obviously some will keep their jobs but it won't be many.

And this buyout is going to spur the economy how? Oh that's right dump how many more job seekers into an already crowded job market.
