HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur)

Hey all,

I am switching to T-Mo from VZW and I have been looking at the MDA and the Dash but I'm having a very hard time deciding which to get. To answer some potential questions to me to get them out of the way, I am looking for a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard, which these have and I want to have a myfaves plan. I understand the Dash has the myfaves app but I was told that you can really have the myfaves plan with any phone. I don't know if I will need to edit any office docs in the future, but I do need to view them at least. I like the touch screen of the mda and like the size of the dash. What do you guys think?

how do i get aim to work well on the dash? i wanted to get the sidekick 3 because i like how their aim works on it but the guy was telling me at the store that the dash is a way better phone but it only shows a couple people from your buddy list online at a time on the Dash. Is there a mod or a program to d/l to make it show the whole buddy list? And im already assuming that the dash doesn't use text messages as IMs. thanks for any help i can get!

Just like the sda, i heard you can just pay 5.99 for the t zoneand still be able to get on the internet. is that true? or you have to have the whole 29.99 package?

Does anyone use Dash with a Motorola bluetooth device? I am considering this phone and I am hoping to keep my favorite bluetooth device which is Motorola. I have a Samsung phone right now that is terribly incompatible with it, I practically have to hold the phone up to the ear that has the bluetooth device on it!! Anyone have experience with this?

As part of the internet dept. at a car dealership, I need to reply to emails as fast as possible. Will the Dash work well enough, or do I need to go to MDA. Also how is the internet browers on the Dash? Can you do more than a WAP browers? Also looking at the Treo 700wx.

Does anyone know of a way to access www.rmlsweb.com (real estate mls website) and login on the Dash? I can get to rmlsweb but I cannot login because the internet explorer on the Dash isn't 5.0 or higher? Is there a way to upgrade Internet Explorer on the phone?

Has anyone had any luck with this I have installed the mobility centre but my pc doesnt seem to see the dash when its connected

☹️ Does anyone have the same problem as I do with this phone. On the main screen, it says Cingular instead of T-Mobile. This is the second phone I got from them. Anyone know why this is an issue... The first phone had this problem and then a few days later phone just died out.

Just got the dash. Love it and although I like the size of the SDA better, it is still a great compromise instead of the MDA. That said, I don't have an ipod but wife has one. How difficult is it to download to my dash a couple of songs? Also, how much memory will that take up? Thanks.

Is there a simplier way for me to get my phone to connect with my BT headphone? Today, I spend 10 minutes turning bluetooth on and off. I tried to change it to handset profile and it would not do it. Anyone with an answer?

i have the dash and the blinking status light bothers me when i sleep at night. does anyone know how to turn it off?

I have the Comm Mgr set to ring, but the vibrate icon still shows up on the today screen and the phone wont ring on incoming calls........HELP....

I noticed in the specs that the Dash isn't supposed to have Flight mode, is that a mistake?

I got my Dash synced with Activesync at home no problems. I can't get a partnership to happen on my work computer. Does WM5 have problems with office networks? I don't know if our intranet has a firewall or not, but my computer at work doesn't have any firewall installed.

I just switched to a Dash from a SE T610. I was able to sync my T610 with my computers at home and work with Bluetooth no problem. So I've paired my Dash with both comps but it doesn't show any available services and I can't BT beam any files to my Dash. Anyone know how to get these services to work? I shudder to think what will happen when i try to pair my BT headset.

This seems like a wonderful phone however the Voice Dial, which is really a crude voice tag stinks.
I have heard there is a way to get it to pop up by holding down the Home button and then also heard this does not work.
The Voice Command on the disk that comes with the phone only works onWM3 and this is a WM5 device, this seems stupid.
I have not been able to find a voice dial for WM5 and when I contact Voice Signal Tech they stated they have not made this for the Dash.
Any info,please.

Hi all-

i stopped by my local T-mobile store yesterday and tried the dash out and it seemed reeeeeeeeally slow. is that just a combo of all the t-mobile/myfaves and other things the general public has probably loaded on there?

I am going to buy an unlocked HTC s620, anyone able to attest to how fast it is and what kind of reception/call quality it gives when not on t-mobile?

with the internet should we worry about virus attacks or hackers? are there any mobile anti-virus softwares?

I received a Dash and unlocked it. My regular carrier is Cingular. The phone works with the Cingular sim card. It also connects to my home wireless network

But how do I send email? So far it always says "failed to connect to server" even when connected wirelessly. I haven't tried while connected as a phone as I don't have a data package with Cingular yet, but would that work?

As an aside, is there a way to replace the T-moble software with Cingulars versions?
