Music Ringtone
I just got an SD card for the phone and I wanted to know if anyone knows how to set the songs as ringtones. Apparently, I have to add songs to the phone first (which defeats the purpose of adding more memory with the SD card), but then it tells me that my files are too big to be ringtones.
Is there any other way to set songs as ringtones, and through using the SD card instead of the phone memory?

I haven't tried it yet myself but I do believe this is what you need to do......
-the phone is telling you that the whole song is too big to set as a ring tone so you would need to "cut" the song up into segments.
-choose whichever "segment" you want to be the ringtone and assign it

I HAD THE T809, AND THE WAY I SET MY MP3'S AS RINGTONES WAS TO CHANGE THE FORMAT TO .3GP INSTEAD OF .MP3... NOW I'VE TRIED IT ON MY NEW PHONE THE T519, BUT IT SAYS FILE IS TOO LARGE. SO IM NOT TOO SURE THAT IT'LL WORK. GIVE IT A SHOT, AND LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKED. T629 IS 🤤 MY NEXT PHONE!

I have downloaded the software (Samsung PC Studio 3 to be precise) but there is no tool to create ringtones in it. Using Audacity I brought my mp3 file down to 120 kB (30 sec long, mono, 32 kpbs sampling rate) but I still got the message that the file is too long.
Then I cut the song to various shorter lengths and it seems that the mp3 file has to be shorter than 20 seconds to be accepted as ringtone.
This is not too user friendly indeed...

Here's how I've been able to get MP3 ringers. (NOTE: This may be tedious and annoying but it worked for me on my Slider Remix and it works now with the T629!)
1. Convert your MP3 to a WAV file.
2. Use the Sound Recorder feature found in Accessories --> Entertainment on your PC. (If you want to clip to be louder just look under "Effects" --> Increase Sound (by 25%)
3. Cut the portion of the song you want to keep. It will save as a WAV file (but much smaller).
4. Convert the WAV back to an MP3 file.
5. Add .mid to the end of the file name (Don't know if this is necessary but it was on the Remix and I still do it anyway.)
6. Move the MP3 file onto your Sounds folder in your MicroSD card. And there you have it...
