Samsung SGH-T629

Is there a way to turn off the automatic keypad lock? Seems like I'm always getting interrupted with the lock keypad? message.

I may have missed that option in the menus and the manual. Any help would be awesome!

If you take a picture with the camera and "set it as wallpaper" it appears on your phone in fullscreen. If you then move the picture to your microSD card, the wallpaper disappears (wallpaper pics must be saved on the phone, as well as mp3s for ringtones etc.). Now, if you go into your microSD card and choose the photo as your wallpaper, it will ask to "copy [back] to phone". After you confirm the move back onto the phone to make it your wallpaper - the pic IS NOT FULLSCREEN anymore, and fills out the top and bottom with annoying white! I know this is peculiar, but it seems that there is some "behind the scenes formatting" happening during memory card transfer - at least with pics... 🙄

I just got an SD card for the phone and I wanted to know if anyone knows how to set the songs as ringtones. Apparently, I have to add songs to the phone first (which defeats the purpose of adding more memory with the SD card), but then it tells me that my files are too big to be ringtones.

Is there any other way to set songs as ringtones, and through using the SD card instead of the phone memory?

Can anyone tell me if this phone can download java app on wap or do they have it block like on t809 also is the video capture unlimited or it can only last one mb?

Can this phone play movies on it like the T809???? If you have any information please post. Thanks a lot!!

When i click on a song and click 'to phone' it'll say 'invalid file'. what do i do to fix this problem? please help. Thanks

After reviewing most of the post on this forum about this phone I have to tell u guys not to get this phone. Especially if you already have a t809. You can flash the t809 to the original version of the phone and use it the way it was ment to be used.

Here's a short list of the benifits of flashing to the D820 which is the real version of the t809:

* Mp3 as ringtone support (no renaming needed)
* No Ascending ringer
* Vibrate and ring simultaneously
* Email client
* Change soft key functions
* Install non-signed java applications ie; opera mini, google maps etc.
* Unlock the phone (use on any carrier)

As you can see there are many benifits that address most of the issues you guys have about the t629. also, the t809/d820 hase 6...

does this phone get dust inside the screen like the t809 did?

I recently purchased these products for my t629 and they work great! The pouch is a lot better quality than I was expecting, and I bought both for less than $25 delivered to my door.

can the t629 read a 2gb card?

Does the 629 get dust under the screen like the t809 did? or was that problem fixed with the 629?

I am just curious if this phone rings and vibrates at the same time. becuase the 2 or three vibrates and the 5 seconds of ringing sucks on the t809

I just bought this phone and a 1g sd card and ordered a data kit through tmob the problem i'm having with the data kit is that it reads my phone is connected to my computer but the samsung software is black and white and i can open any files. Samsung said that tmob does not have the data kit and they sent me a t809 kit. also samsung says that the 629 WILL NOT support a 1g sd card only a 512mb is this true and is this the reason i am having problems with my data kit?

I saw in a review a user said he has a bluetooth stereo headset for this phone. I looked and looked but I can not find a bluetooth stereo headset that will support the phone 100%.

All the headsets I have found always say this "A2DP (for music playing) and AVRCP profiles (for remote control), headset and hands-free profiles"

Looking at the specs of the the SGH-T629 it doesn't support A2DP or AVRCP. But according to this site the phone does work with bluetooth headsets. So how does it if it doesn't have the bluetooth profiles A2DP or AVRCP?

I am really confused. I really want to get this phone but since it doesn't come with a stereo headset I would like to get a bluetooth stereo headset.

Does anyone know if this is the same as the t809 in that you can change the file extension on songs to 3pg and use as ringtones on phone?
