Motorola W385
A few people have commented that the screen is too small?
I have read a couple posts on Howards were owners of the W385 feel that the inside screen and keypad are just way too small. Any owners of this phone have any opinions?

the screen is a little small compared to higher end models like the razr. But i did not find it hard to read or anything like that.
as far as the keypad goes it is great. A little narrow by design, yes, about the same size as a krazr though so very usabble. The best thing about the yepad is it is rubber!! I know that sounds stupid and they probably did it to save production cost, but the ubber buttons on a slim phone are so much nicer. I also carry a 8700, i had a razr, and have plenty of experience with the 8600,krazr. This is by far the best keypad for ease of use, no mis keys because of slippery hard to feel out metal butons like other slim phones. The razr maxx would be the nicest keypad, but this is easily my number two choice.

I've only had the phone for a day but I've found the number pad keys are fine. I have trouble with the directional arrow keys, specifically I keep hitting the CLR (clear or back) key when trying to hit the Right Arrow key. This is marginally annoying.
The worst feature is the small font size on the small screen. I think if the font was bigger I wouldn't mind the smaller screen.
Another issue is the lack of accessories, especially a belt clip which does not appear to be available anywhere except for the leather case which then starts to cancel out the small form factor. I've been reading about the Nokia 6126 and it seems to be better in respect to the issues I am speaking of.

Don't believe the hype. The screen is very usuable and very bright and the keyboard is just fine. If you are unsure, go to the store and try it out. You'll find that the phone is a great phone.

To adilus - if someone says the screen is too small it means it's too small for them. I used to have perfect vision and the screen would have been fine for me back then. But now I need glasses for reading only. I don't wear them when driving or walking around. In fact I would bump into things if I did. But I can't read the screen on the W385 without my glasses. It's often inconvenient to put my glasses on when taking a call, such as if driving or carrying something in my other hand. I can't fish out my glasses in those situations. So I need a fairly large font to read it without my glasses.
So for me - the screen is TOO SMALL. What bothers me more is you cannot change the font size. And there is plently of room to accommodate a larger font...

All I'm saying is the font is rather small, and for people who need glasses to read they should take this into consideration, and believe me, at some point you will likely fall into this category. I used to have perfect vision and never thought I'd need glasses, well guess again.
As far as the phone I really like many things about it. I only wish I could adjust the font like I can on my Blackberry. I made the wrong assumption that it would be possible before buying the phone. But I have 14 days to return it if I so choose. It will not be an easy decision but I don't know if I want to keep this for 2 years.
