Samsung Omnia i910

I have a blackberry storm I am thinking about switching to the Omnia. I like the multimedia functions of the Storm. I is easy to sync with my iTunes music and add my digital copies of my movies the screen is awesome. My big questions about the Omnia the how is it as a multimedia. I hate the camera on the Storm 3.2mp but it is slow and sluggish. How easy is it to copy iTunes music to Omnia and how is the video playback. Plus I have large hands how is it for texting.

Is it true that there will be a new software upgrade for this phone by march or earlier?

Has anyone had any luck using the Smart Reader to take pictures of documents? It works well to scan business cards, but when taking pictures of documents I haven't been able to open them up in word mobile. Anyone else figure this out?

i was reading the reviews of the phone, and i always start with the negative first. so im reading the reviews and someone who claims to be a techy nerd says there is no way to delete paired bluetooth devices.

DOES ANYONE DO THE TRAINING WHEN FIRST BOOTING THE PHONE???????

its winmo, so its like a computer. on a computer you can right click, on the omnia you PUSH AND HOLD, and it essentially right-clicks, thus giving you options to delete bluetooth devices.

they do the initial training at the start of the phone, and everyone should do it. some interesting stuff in there 🙂

i'm a little to lazy to read back through the whole forum, and i can't see on the specs if it allows you to do so. So my question is, will this phone allow me to do MMS?

Just got my phone 2 days ago got most of the bugs worked out except when in the locked mode and phone rings in my holster or when I am taking it out bumping buttons answers the call. I there any other lockout methods?

I added an 8gb sdhc card to my omnia and successfully transferred saved pics to the card. The card shows up as my storage and storage card in file explorer (what's the difference?).

My problem is that the camera won't let me take pictures and says there isn't enough memory. How can I set the storage card as the default memory storage for the camera? The current file structure is- my device/ my docs/ DCIM/100sscam.

From what i have read I can stream music (mp3) and hopefully TV thru the bluetooth headset, but I have to listen to FM using a wired 3.5 earphone jack thru some sort of special adaptor.. Is this true? And secondly, can I listen with the wired headset and charge the phone at the same time?

Is it possible to download itune movies to my computer , and later DL to this phone and be able to watch them? ANd how about podcasts?

anyone looking for a quality carmount for your Omnia (or any other device), this site custom makes a swivel holster for the Omnia as well as a custom mount bracket for your car. Its $35 for the swivel mount ($25 for fixed) and add on another $30 for your car bracket. Pricey but worth it!!!

I'm thinking about getting a verizon Omnia and not switching to an iphone or G1 but I have some questions. Is it user friendly to a new winmo user? I have never used winmo and I assume I will have to figure out a way to transfer my itunes songs into windows media, but other than that is it fairly simple to figure out? I like gadgets but I don't know code and have never had a winmo phone. Also, is the OS something I could upgrade in the future to either winmo 7 or possibly android cupcake? I usually hold onto phones for a while, and I'd love the option to change OS but keep same phone. Any help would be appreciated.

My storage memory has run out so I keep trying to delete things from my "my storage" and it doesn't seem to increase the available space. I use window's explorer, go to "my storage", delete things that take up a lot of room (MP3s, videos..) but then when I check the system memory I still did not increase the available space on my storage. When I'm deleting these files, is it going to a trash folder that I need to empty out? I was not able to find one, however, nothing seems to be deleting and creating more room.

Also, I'm going to purchase a card this weekend. Any recommendations on what type and brand?

i found this cool shortcut just playing with mine. But if you take and swipe your finger up between the phone and main menu buttons on the main screen a little box will slide up allowing you to end all tasks or to just chose quickly to end a certain task. LOVE IT! No more having to go through the menu or making the task manager a shortcut.

I am considering this phone to replace a motorola Q9c. I have read at least one or two reviews that indicated that signal strength is an issue with this phone. Has anyone had a problem obtaining a decent signal?

I'm in sounds & notifications. I want my sound for text messages to repeat, so that I don't miss them. The option for repeat is grayed out. Is there anyway to enable this.. through the registry possibly?

Do any of you current Omniz Owners know if you can shut off the shutter sound when taking pictures, my Dog won't hold still no matter what sounds I've chosen with other phones ? Thanks in advance
