Doing so risks those employee's job, could result in a hefty fine, and risks the store never getting phones early again.
Even ADMITTING you have the phones in stock can cause this.
So yes, it's BS that they let you play with it. How wrong of them to risk their jobs so you can satisfy your curiosity.

Maybe because I have three lines and buy a new phone every 2 to 3 months they try to keep their loyal customers satisfied !!

Period. The... MAYBE 100 that rep will see from your account isn't worth being fired for and a black mark on their resume. And that's assuming they even get the sale to begin with. Reps don't get residuals, they don't get a portion of your monthly payment (so they don't care how long you've been a customer) the ONLY time they get paid is at the point of activation.

It doesn't matter WHAT it is. The fact that it is their job and there are consequences is.

Seriously.. You're not that important. Get over it.

And you are not worth arguing with...

1% of a reps income isn't worth risking the other 99.
In case you missed it, billions of dollars are made in cellphones. A good chunk of that is because of marketing, hyped release dates, and trade secrets. So no, they're not top secret government devices, but they make a lot of people a heck of a lot of money, and that makes them important to the companies that sell them.
Or did you miss the part where apple is suing Gizmodo and trying to get felony charges levied against them because they posted PICTURES on a WEBSITE?
