Lag time in connecting?
I have read a couple of comments about the lag time in making a call - that the phone is pretty slow in connecting. Is this common or do you think it depends on the area or maybe a software glitch?
Thanks ...

I just came from AT&T. I think Verizon is actually faster connecting.

Thanks, Albee. I wonder if you or anyone else has noticed if the 4500 is any slower in connecting than other phones, regardless of carrier.

Not me. I just came from ATT too. Let me try it right now.
Nope. Pretty quick.

The lag in connect time is the first thing I noticed when I started using this phone. I came to Verizon from Cingular and had a tri-mode phone before. I suspect it may be related to the phone being all Digital?? I also noticed that it does it a lot more when the battery is low. Am trying to decide if this bothers me enough to go back for teh 4400B. I would hate to lose the speakerphone, though!!
By the way, I am in north Atlanta. Should be plenty of digital towers.

I noticed the lag too. There is a new firmware out T45VZ02 that seemed to help a bit. Just take it into a VZ store and have them program it. It takes about 30min to do. I hope this helps.
I did notice one more thing about the 4500. Many times, before I make a call, I see 3-4 bars, then when I make the call it drops to 1-2. Sometimes, it drops the calls too. I don't know what that could be. I've read about complaints about that too.
