High data use

My wife had a BackFlip (also and Andriod phone), and just got the Status. We had the 200Mb data plan, and she never even came close to using it all. Now with the Status, she used over 400MB in the first month. I set it up to use our wireless network at home, but the data use is still way over what it was with the Backflip. She's not doing anything different with it -- mostly just using Facebook. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Anyone else figure out what was going on?

This crap or the iPhone 3GS

Gee, it's so hard to decide....

Both of them are $49
Both of them require a data plan.

It's a no-brainer which one the consumer is gonna go with. This phone is a FAIL.

If it were free and you could use the $10 data plan for non-smartphones. Then maybe it would stand a chance but as is, it's a FAIL.

Get an iPhone 3GS.

Another "almost" for portrait QUERTY joy on AT&T

The short version:

1. Add a trackpad like Blackberry.
2. Lose the stupid FaceBook button, shift keyboard downward and enlarge the screen.
3. ???
4. Profit!

The long version:

Portrait QUERTY users are almost inevitably Blackberry users. Why? Because you can actually compose and edit messages on them quickly. BB has the winning combo of an ergonomically perfect keyboard and a cursor controller. The OS is also tailored to the relatively small screen. If HTC wanted to own RIM's consumer business overnight, they'd only need to release a clone of the Motorola Droid Pro, or something akin to a larger Palm Pre - but with a better keyboard and a trackpad! Moto could accomplish this even easier, but they haven't gotten ...
