It's better than i thought it would be!
I've had many phones. This seems to have all the features I'd want in a phone: two cameras, FM, BlackBerry-like keyboard, etc.....
If this phone would have had more internal memory and a stronger battery life, it'd be unstoppable. However, it's still good enough for me not to miss having an iPhone.
Never again
We had gotten this phone for my daughter, and at first she was very happy with it. The Facebook access is easy to use and the phone isn't bad overall as an entry level smartphone marketed to teenagers. So, the reason we don't have it anymore. Onboard storage for the phone is 512 MB and any applications had to install through the onboard memory before moving to the internal SD card. With the bloatware that comes with the phone, the actual storage was @ 330 MB. After the bloatware updates brought it current, my daughter could literally no download anything to the phone without receiving an error message for storage capacity. The phone comes with a 2GB SD card that ends up being practically useless because of the aforementioned onboard storage issue. HTC needs to up the onboard to at least 2 GB with support up to a 32GB SD card if they want to market the phone to teenagers that generally download apps like they are going out of style.
One of My Faves So Far
I have had many cell phones over the years and am very pleased with the Status. I am blind and need a text-to-speech application that will enable me to access the screen contents. I am currently using a text-to-speech program developed for blind users and am having a very good experience so far.
The keyboard is nice and large and feels great to use once I got used to the dot on the D instead of the G where I have grown accustomed to seeing it. Very minor detail! I am able to use most of the aps on the phone and have downloaded several, some of which are accessible with the speech and some that aren't. This has nothing to do with the phone itself, but it's just a detail I thought worth mentioning.
Call quality is good on my end and reportedly so on the other. The volume of both calls and ringers is loud enough to hear in busy environments. The vibrating alert is also very strong.
My Internet and E-mail experiences have been relatively fast on the Status, even when I'm on You Tube.
I have downloaded music and find it easy to locate and listen on the phone.
The physical size of the Status is comparable to most phones out there today if not a little smaller than some. I have small hands so could really go for a slightly smaller phone, but I don't really mind the size since I like the phone so much.
The touch screen works well and is responsive with the text-to-speech application I am using. It is, however, a bit small as touch screens go. While this is not a problem for me, it definitely could be for those who can see it and rely on this method of accessing a cellular phone. This would, of course, be most people!
I would be remiss if I didn't mention texting. As stated earlier, the keyboard is large and easy to use. I find texting to be comfortable and quick, two requirements I look for in a phone.
Overall, I find this to be a great option for all Droid users, beginner like me or more advanced.
the best keyboard and Facebook usability
pro:
Great social interaction on the go. You take a photo and can post it at once.
The BEST keyboard I experience . Good for the twitterer amongst us.
Light and thin. You don't need a backpack to carry it around .
Font size can be managed in the email
Cons
At time the font is too small and you cannot adjust it.
It will not win a gold medal for speedy INTERNET connection .
sum: love it because I have to do PR all the time through Social Media
