Samsung Gusto 2 / Gusto 3

Please someone tell me that my beloved samsung gusto is not obsolete..... I am receiving incomplete text messages in addition to texts that just have symbols instead of letters and words. I believe the symbols messages are emoji's. The incomplete messages worry me as I ask if people who sent them did anything different or unusual..... but nothing stands out. The messages dont even have certain senders in common. It seems to be intermittent. Can anyone help???

is there a way to set how long the screen light will stay on? the light goes out rather quickly on my new gusto 3 phone.

I have a Bluetooth I use to communicate with my phone. Therefore, I need a phone with very good voice recognition. I understand I can't get this unless I get a smartphone, which I don't want/need. The Samsung Gusto 2 has been recommended to me by a Verizon sales person. Does anyone have any experience with this phone and voice recognition?

Can anyone who has this phone look in contacts and tell me if you can set different text message ring tones for individual contacts that are different than their individual call ring tone? That's my biggest requirement in a phone, and it's not something you can find in the specs. And I can't find a working model at any store to look and see myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, can you set the entry mode of text messages to open in T9 mode?

Does anyone know of a way to dissable the volume button. My 91 year old father accidentally trns the volume down. He is hard of hearing and the phone works great for him otherwise.
