I must disagree. The bloatware can be disabled - and I only have about 10 apps of bloat on mine. Someone must have downloaded some garbage on the demo model that doesn't actually come on the phone.
And for $299, with 32GB of storage and the amazing battery, this is well worth the money. Best Android phone on Verizon currently in my humble opinion.

I have the Razr Maxx HD and I like it but it is buggy and freezes a lot. My upgrade date is in October. When you handled this phone, was it very responsive? Did it lag at all in data?
I disabled a lot of apps on my current phone and cleared the cache, but it still has problems.

I didn't just handle it. I bought it. It is amazing. No lag at all (other than loading the Droid control widget). Handles app switching and multitasking like a breeze.
I attribute much of the issues from the Droid Bionic up to now to Blur being embedded in android. That is not the case now that Google owns Moto. Blur is gone and it is pure fast android.

I have it and so far its the best moto droid yet, by a long shot.
As for the android install on it, it's as close to pure android as you can get without going with a nexus or "google experience device" neither one of which is offered on Verizon (at least, no "new'ish" ones anyway, still the OG nexus, but if you prefer 2-3 year old hardware, be my guest).
The bloat is on everything on all carriers that's not a nexus/GE device and this one has very little of it from what I see. A couple items disabled was all that was needed.
I'm guessing you just hate moto?

Not a Moto hater at all! 😁 Since my first post I've been able to spend some time with a friend's Maxx, untethered, outside of Verizon store. It's a powerhouse, and given the importance of battery life I'd seriously reconsider!
I know you can disable apps, but I still find it insulting even having to look at "City ID" and "Verizon Tones" every time I go into the app drawer. Keep in mind I'm coming from a Gnex, so I'm really biased agst bloat.

I have yet to find any issues with it at this point, other than not being able to get an otterbox for it that HAS an otter box screen protector in it...Verizon sells ones without and OB doesn't offer on their site yet.
Battery life has been outstanding though I am still able to easily drain it by 3-4 pm on a busy day (for me though, that's GOOD, I've had phones in the past that would be dead by 10am, starting at 7:00am). On not so busy days it gets through the day until it hits the charger at bedtime.
My only real gripe is it seems either moto or Verizon (not sure which) broke "portable wifi hotspot" on the device. Worked on my razr maxx hd and note 2, so I'm assuming they killed it on the new droid line (it basically enabled the hots...

sdgmcdon: Only thing stopping me is the $650 off contract price (for 3 phones) to keep my unlimited data. Hesitant to shell out 2 grand knowing Androids don't hold their value like iPhones -- my 20 month old pristine Gnex is prob worth ~$50-$75. Maybe I'll pull the trigger if they drop the price to $199
