LG VX-8000

I am having the hardest time changing the faceplate on this phone. I can get one screw out but not the rest.

Anybody else have trouble?

Has anyone changed it with success?

Can anyone help me out? 😢

Anyone know the status of the shutoff fix for this phone? Something has to be up!

OKay ive been looking for this dam plastic holster clip for god knows how long in regular local stores, at this point im just going to buy one online..Does anybody know if they make a holster clip where the back faces out? like the nextels or the razr possibly? Thanks

I read w/ the 8100 you could put vid clips/gifs so that when you open your phone you actually see the animation/video going.

I would love to have this feature. HOW?

just got a replacement phone due to my old one shutting off all the time, even after the firmware update.

i copied all my files using a usb and bitpim. however, the calendar is grayed out, so apparently bitpim is not compatible with the calendar function.

i haven't had any luck with backing up and restoring with qpst. i can back my old phone up, but can't restore to the new one. it recognizes it, but won't write to it. i forget what the error is write now.

are there any options for backing that calendar up?

What kind of battery life are you getting with the battery that comes with the phone.
I have been able to get it to show 4 bars for 24 hrs in standby. Do you reccomend the extend battery?

I was just searching through the phones that Verizon offers and didn't see the LG8000. I was considering the Motorola E815, but keep hearing people complaining about the "echo" and the low battery life when it switches from EVDO to 1x. SO, next I was looing for the LG8000. It's gone, anyone know what happened? Is it completely discontinued?

been searching around and haven't found any instructions. verizon says you can't do it.

what version is everybody using? I have version 4. I hear there is a 5 b ut i dont know what it does to improve over 4. Anyone know?!?

I used to be able to email myself animated gifs and 30sec mp3's changed to .mid to use a ringtones on my VX8000 but today I tried it and the attachements got dropped. What gives? Did VZW cripple that too? Anyone know how to get around this? Thanks

If i get my phone insured, lose or break it and call in for a new one will i get the 8100 since the 8000 is discontinued?

1. does using Bitpim and/or QPST void your phone's warranty?

2. does using a non-verizon charger of any kind or USB cable void your phones warranty?

3. can a verizon techie actually tell if you have used one of the above like they claim?

my phone is experiencing some issues, i cannot receive messages unless i am in a call or transmitting data of any kind. sucks, but cust serv said take it to a service center. so i am scared. 😢

Anyone know when new firmware will be available that will finally fix the Shut Down bug???

so if i break my 8000, and get the insurence deal, will they give me a 8000 or a 8100. because i wouldn't want that phone its a pos. id rather have the e815.

I was just wondering if verizon charges for using the vx-8000 as a modem for my computer using their service (your-phone-#@vz23g.com). I do not have Vcast in my area so I would guess it would cost me my min. on my plan but do they charge for anything else like how many bytes I've sent and received?
