Hi I just recieved my 6100 yestereday and I new to all this mp3 stuff. Is there any way to get mp3's to play on my phone. I am really not fond of the polyphonic ring tones that sound like an organ playing usher- its not cute. If anyone can help me that would be great.
Thanks.

save the mp3 file as 16, 24 or 32 bit and 24000 or 16000Hz. (I use Nero's wave editor, but any sound editing software will work).

then right click on the file and rename from .mp3 to .mid

then email the file to your phone at 1235551234@vzwpix.com

remember, it's $.25/per pix and ringer, unless you have the pix package package.

How long, as in kb. can the .mid file be?

I think the max is around 115 or 120k. I don't think there's a length to the song, just size of the file.

I haven't played around with it a lot for the 6100, but have done a bunch for my 710 and some for the 9900 (both done the same way, except the 710 can be much larger file sizes).

You can also do it by recording music in your voice memo section (menu-8-4)as you would an actual memo and then saving the file as a ringer under contacts, caller id, et al. if you limit your recordings to like 20 seconds apiece you can get about 4 songs or more that way. hope this helps
