How to activate "Silence All"

I just upgraded from a VX-6000 to a VX-6100. On my old phone, holding down the star key would cycle the ringer through Normal Mode, Manner Mode, and Silence All. The new one works the same way, but only Normal and Manner Modes come up. I can't find any reference to Silence All in the manual (whose index leaves a lot to be desired), except there is an Icon listed showing Silence All. Has anyone figured out how to put the phone into that mode?

I have found if you have your phone open and not on a call, hit the volume keys up and down, that will change the ringer volume. All the way down will silence the ringer.

Pressing the volume key down will put it in Manner Mode which vibrates on ring. The 6100 doesn't have the Silent All mode like the 6000 which doesn't make any sound (even vibrate) on a ring.

I think I have the phone on "Silence All" by doing the following:

1. Open phone (I don't know how to activate "Silence All" with the phone closed).
2. Press and hold the * key to activate manner mode.
3. Press the side volume key down to move ringer from high, med, low, to silent -- the last choice.
"Silence All" icon appears.

You can also get the phone to manner mode when the phone is closed using the volume buttons, but then have to open it to finish Step 3 above.

I haven't received a call yet, but the "Silence All" icon is indicating I have the phone silenced. Feel free to reply if this works. (p.s. I find this to be a really useful forum -- thanks)

Even easier.
Just open the phone and use the volume button to scroll down to "Silent."

Yes, that works! Awesome tip. I think they must have gotten rid of the Silent option with the flip closed on this phone. People were complaining that they missed calls when the volume buttons accidentally got pushed and the phone went into Silent.
