LG VX-6100

on the lg web site it says that vx 6100 camera has a 8x zoom. is this right i have not been able to get my phone to more than 2x ? 😕

Does this phone have the capability to record my own ring tones and if so how?

I have an LG VX-6100 (non BT phone) and a Palm PDA (Sony NX70V).

My goal is to pair them up via BT for dialup networking. Since the 6100 does not have BT, my plan was to get something like the Jabra A210 BT adapter. Since my PDA doesn't have BT, but does have a CF slot, I was planning to get a BT CF card.

Has anyone who has a 6100 phone and a BT-capable PDA successfully used the A210 (or another adapter) for dialup networking?

Extra credit - has anyone used an NX70V with the A210, or similar, for DUN? If so, what BT CF card, CF enabler, and respective CF card driver did you use?

Love the features, hate the voice quality. I seem to be the only one here with that complaint. Took it back and got a new one and still the same trouble. Am getting 6 bars much of the time. Absolutely impossible to talk when the other party is talking. I travel up and down eastern Mass. and this seems to happen everywhere. Newest firmware: t61vzv02. I'd love to keep this but I'm at my wits end. Anybody have the same problem, or better yet can suggest a solution ?

Are the "groups" defined in the VX6100 contacts list compatible with BitPim?

Can BitPim upload group definitions when contacts are uploaded?

was wondering if it is possible and how to load ringtones onto phone using bitpim or qtsp
and if so do they need to be in a certain format???

I have the LG 6100 and also TWO Jabra headsets which I've had for over a year and a half. I used it on my motorola for all this time. Now, in March, I purchased the LG 6100 and just last week, one of my headsets stopped working (I couldn't hear the person on the other end, yet they could hear me). Then less than a week later, my second headset is doing the same thing. I took the phone to Verizon and they say the phone is fine. Why would this happen to not just one but TWO headsets within a week of each other ?? (BY THE WAY..my sister also has an lg phone and this exact thing happened to her Jabra headsets (2) a month and a half ago! Any help ??? Please! I am lost without the headset and really liked the Jabra, but am afraid to buy anot...

I uploaded contacts (289 of them) to my VX6100 using BitPim, and everything went fine except none of them are assigned to a group on the phone.

All of them do have a "categories" assignment in BitPim. Any ideas on how I can get them to uload to the phone with the group assignments intact?

I'm using BitPim 7.3, and the phone is running T61VZ02.

Have been trying to retrieve text messages from my 6100 in order to save them to hard drive. I would simply forward them to my e-mail address, but I get a message about not being able to forward enhanced messages. Has anyone else been able to view/save the text messages from their 6100 with BitPIM? I've searched high and low on this forum with no luck.

How do you reset the call timers on this phone. I am used to resetting all the timers (obviously not the lifetime) every month on my invoice date. It just gives me a heads-up as to my usage during the month. I cannot for the life of me figure it out on this phone. Am I missing something obvious or is it not possible (hard to believe)? I have the 6100 for a few months now and have noticed that my old motorola didn't have half as many dropped calls in the two years that I owned it as this one does in the few months! I was traveling a route that I always travel and all of a sudden it went into analog mode (which it never did in that location) and kept dropping my calls. I am thinking about trading this in for the 7000. Anyone else have these issues? HELP!!

I use this phone in a marginal signal area, and am wondering if there is a after market antenna available that might provide more gain.

I don't care if the antenna is physically large, just want better performance.

My girlfriend just got this phone and i heard mixed reviews in this forum about the reception. Well the phone does have a tendency to have the signal fluctuate constantly and the person on the other line begins to break up. Is there any way to correct this problem??

Anyone know if you can get pix to PC using Futuredial cable and software? It says on their site it's available, but has anyone tried it?

first off i love this phone 😁 . so glad i switched from nextel. the recepion is the best i have had in a long time. ok, now my questions.

1. can you add words to the t9 dictionary?, and how many are you able to add.

2. i have read about sending ringtones via vpix. i notice that i can send them as mp3 and they play great. but i cant save them. i can send them as mid, save them, but they sound horrible. am able to send wav, but thy dont play.

3. i have noticed when receiving pix mgs. they always fail. i have to open the phone, goto mgs, goto the new msg. and receive the image.

if anyone can help that would be great.. im also going to post this in a few other places

Does anyone know how to disable the camera side button? I don't know exactly what is hitting it, but it keeps taking pictures while in the holster. Any help will be appreciated.
