Nokia 6255i / 6256i

I got the phone 2day from the verizon store 2day NOT Best Buy..I know I might of asked this ? b4 but answer me 1 more time cuz I dont come here often. HAS ANY1 GOTTEN REALTONES on this phone? Im upset cuz the guy said it does..I dont think he lied I think he just dint know...Can I get a straight answer from sum1 please?

Hi, I'm with the US Cellular thus my mp3 media player is unlocked. I'm using a 512MB MMCplus card to play mp3 files. I wanted to upgrade to a 2GB card, however, as noted in the other forum the maximum amount of tracks the media player can recognize is 200 which defeats the purpose of going above a 1GB card.

Q: has anyone actually tried a 2GB card to use with the mp3 media player? If so, could you actually see more than 200 tracks and were there any performance issues?

😢 I just registered to this site and was wondering if there is anyone out there that has this phone through Verizon. If so were you able to get the MP3 ringtones working.

This is my second 6255i (as a few days ago my first decided to swim a few laps in the toilet... and I had to get another one.) My first one was great. I know how to use Diego and used it to enable all the mp3 as a ringtone stuff.

But my problem is the Text Message Settings menu. My old phone was fine when I got it, so I never even opened this menu or changed any of the settings. But my new one is not set to my likings... The default font size is set at Normal and I would like it at Large. I can change this in the text editor, but it won't save the change. The user guide says:
Menu>Message>Text Messages>Message Settings>Other Settings.
And I've gotten that far. But once I'm looking at those settings, None of the ones I want to cha...

Now we know thta mp3 player on the 6256i is limited, but I dont have the nokia pc suite or the data cable, but here's an idea. What if someone had the 6255 phone would that person be able to take the mp3 player funtions from that phone then create a file and then be able to transfer the application to a 6256i phone? I've never used the data cable or pc suite, so it's just an idea, has anyone tried this or though of it?

Are all the headsets compatible or are there some out there that are not? If so which one would you all recommend to use? I like the cardio brand but I was just curious before I buy one. Thanks in advance.

new to 6255i from us cell. need advise on headphones for listening to music via radio and mps's what do you use? Would like to use my ear buds ... is there an adapter so I can use the larger size pin in the 6255i?

Is it true that I can play only one mp3 (song) at a time? no matter what size mmc i have? Need to know before I go put and buy a card??

Well I've had this phone for a few months now with Verizon. The main reason I bought it because Circuit City had a sale at there Verizon stand after xmas for the phone with a Jabra bluetooth headset for 30 bucks, and it has been pretty good, but some of the features like picture ID on the mini display are nowhere to be found even though on the box it came in there is a pic ID on the mini display. I'm also dissapointed in the lack of ringtone support for the phone. There is absolutely nothing for it. And if I want anything I guess I have to create my own tone, which I havent tried yet.

Is there really no way to get picture IDs on the main screen?

Can anyone confirm that this phone can do D.U.N via bluetooth on the windows o.s?

My V710 did it well, but is fried. Need a replacment but want to be able to continue to use a phone as a modem w/my laptop when nec.

i have my deigo working and added my ringtones. now i see an option for java to be enableed. will this work or does it mess up the phone???

Over the last few days I've started having issues with my phone, it first powered itself off with about half a charge, so I wrote that off.

Today, it was plugged into the charge, on one moment, off the next, without my touching it.

All night tonight, the phone turned itself off, intermittently-- at least 3 times. I am not pleased. Anyone else had similar issues?

alot of people on here are saying that it is but i just got off the phone with the nokia warranty rep 😲 .... 🙄 they are saying this is a physical damage problem 👿

I recently returned my 6255i, I got the phone in May (one of the first ones sold). The hing had developed a small crack that was slowly growing. Upon returning the phone for a new one (under warranty with Cellular South) I spoke with 4 sales reps there who all had the phone as their personal handset; every one of them had a crack in the same place.

I would advise you guys (especially those of you who got it early) to take a good look at the outside portion of the hing on your phone to look for such cracking, if you don't catch it soon enough you end up out of warranty with a busted hing on a phone that wasn't cheap.

OK! so I brought a data cable and I've been trying to figure out how to transfer songs I've downloaded on the phone into ringtones. It keeps saying invalid file. Can someone please email me and let me know exactly how to do this.

for anyone who is iterested, i have my nokia on ebay. it comes with a usb bluetooth adapter, usb dku cable, and the phone has been hacked with deigo so you can play mp3s as ringetones. please check it out and email me if u have any questions

Is anyone else disappointed by the color quality on the display screen of the 6256i? I was expecting much better resolution and quality.


I just recieved my phone last night and am still debating on whether or not to keep it. So if you have issues with the quality of the display, please tell me how you "overcame" your disappointment. If that makes sense!

Why don't Verizon stores carry the Nokia 6256i? It is only available at Best Buy and Radioshack and online. Best Buy and Radioshack claim that the new every two is not valid in their stores. Furthermore, Best Buy has the phone but not on display like they are trying to hide it. The cost is outrageous anywhere from $249 to $299. And the guy at Radioshack told me that in another month they are droppping Verizon and going to sell Cingular crap. If you can't use your new every two on a Verizon phone you want then that is just plain stupid. I'm seriously thinking of going to Alltel but Verizon's network and price plans are better.

I was wondering what kind of data cable do I need in order to transfer info from my computer to my phone? Also, does anyone know where I can purchase a data cable from and about how much will it be? Thanks in advance!
