Motorola V265 / V266 / V276
Mobile phone tools and modem
Will this phone work with motorola's mobile phone tools? Can you use the current version or will you have to wait untill version 3 of the phone tools software? Also can this phone be used as a modem for your laptop?

about mobile phone tools, i had v 1.23 and there was an option in the sofware to update it to the latest while online. now mine is v3.11. i haven't got my v265 so i can't tell if it'll work. still waiting for the sale $49.99 to appear here in southern california. i still don't see it in my area nor online (based on my zipcode). i do see the sale price online when i switch my zipcode to florida.

Mobile phones tools should work, but it always seems to lag behind having the new phones for a month or so. If it doesn't recognize the V265, you could try to trick it by manually choosing a similar phone that is in the CDMA list like V710. It will show a V710 picture, but should still work.
This phone can be used as a modem. Haven't tried it myself, but my friend uses his V710 on the train every morning and says it works well. The V265 should do the same.
