How does it hold up?
I have had an LG VX4400B for about a year and I am looking for a new phone. It's a great phone but I'm looking for something new. It has lots of scratches on the battery and the paint is coming off on the bottom. The Verizon logo on the front is even gone. But anyway, How does this phone hold up to the wear and tear of everyday use? It looks kind of, for lack of a better word, "plasticky". Thanks. 😁

v265 battery cover
Does anybody notice that the battery cover moves or shimmies a little? It's really annoying, especially when compared to how solid the v60 was. Thanks.

Motorola quality - V265
I have a Motorola 331T that's just over 2 years old, with Cincular. Before that my SO & I had Startec (mine had issues, his is still fine), before that I had a Nokia. Mine were always the cheaper phones as I didn't use it much. He now has a V60 that has been trouble free.
I like the 331 except the ringing is hard to hear in the car (older noisier car) and my reception is horrible compared to the V60. Verizon just came out with a family plan that's comparable to the Cingular one and I've been unhappy with the Cingular customer service for years, so I'm ready to switch.
I was looking at the V265 as my accessories will work on it and my boss has one and it works fine for him. Reception is better than my 331, reviews here say reception is ...

LG7000 or MOTO265?
My initial reaction was to go with the V265 as my current Samsung400 has been nothing but trouble on the sprint network. Constantly dropping calls and looking for signals... e.g. chewing up battery. So reception and sound quality was the number one priority. Also i've used the speaker phone several times on the N400 and found it usefull, so that was another big plus for the Moto.
However, the reviews for the LG are glowing on this site and the display puts the moto to shame.
Moto
50 bucks cheaper
excelent reception
speaker phone
LG
good reception
excelent display
mp3 ring tones
Anybody else compare these head to head? What was your deciding factor? After the Samsung N400 debacle i'm planning to put considerably more thoug...

Hands free car kit
My SO had a V60 with a great little hands free kit from CCM. You plugged the phone right into it. Even though all of our old V60/331 cables work with the V265, it won't quite fit into the kit.
Is there anything out there or do we just have to wait (or come up with another solution?)
TIA,
Diane
charging = ringer changes??
Is the ring style supposed to change when you plug in the charger? right now, if I'm on vibrate, and then I plug the phone in to charge, it instantly changes to "alarm loud" mode. when I unplug, it goes back to vibrate.
is moto trying to do me a favor and make sure I don't miss a call while it's not on my person? or is this a glitch? I can usually hear a phone vibrating on a desk anyway, so I'd rather it not change the ringer style on its own.
thoughts? thanks!

Does this phone show you've missed a call on the external display?
My husband just lost his Motorola T720 which is no biggie since he's now eligible for the new every 2. We are considering this phone but only if he can glance over to the phone and see if he's missed a call WITHOUT having to hit a button to bring up the display. I have the V710 and love the bluetooth but HATE that I have to "wake up" the outside display to see if I've missed a call. I'll never buy another phone ever that works this way.
So, if anyone out there can quickly answer this for me, I'd be thankful since we have to go tomorrow and pick out a new phone for him and I'd like to research it a bit more if this phone has that feature. Thanks!

is this better than 6100? also my 2 cents on moto phone!
Does this phone have better sound quality than the lg 6100?? I just upgraded my 60 moto to 6100 lg, and must say the sound really is poor on this 6100.
By the way...my wife and i both have v60's for two years....and our 16 month old loves them....throws them all over the place...twists them, beats them, pushes every button a million times.......never has been broke....moto fone quality if fine by me!!!

DON'T BUY: Doesn't turn off when closed
I'm a verizon dealer, and these phones are starting to come back for return because the button at the top of the screen doesn't get pushed when the phone is closed. The phone doesn't turn off when closed. VERY BAD DESIGN!

Number of bars preferred
Hi, I just purchased a v265 and am in my 15 day trial period. I have one concern I would hope you could help me resolve. With t-mobile and cingular, I get 5 bars all the time at my house. With my verizon phone, it's only getting 2-4 bars (usually 3-4 ) Is this cause for concern. Phone calls seem to work fine, but would this be enough of a dropoff for you to go with cingular. I don't use my phone a bunch at home, but enough I want to get good reception while I'm there.
Thanks,
Mike

Mobile Action MA8862c for Motorola V265
Personally I love this small handy data transfer kit from Mobile Action very much, and the price is very reasonable!(only US$30 bucks)
This data kit offers me so much more than I expect, such as phonebook data management, calendar sync with outlook and outlook express, send multi. messages to people, dial up to internet, plus the cable charges the phone(I really love this charging function!)
With this little data transfer kit, it really turns my V265 more powerful and usefl than ever!
Try to get one for yourself then you'll believe it! 🙂
Making voice recording a ringtone?
Does anyone know if there is a way to make a voice recording into a ringtone? I think it would be great to have a friends voice recorded and then make it into a personal ringtone.
Does anyone know if any other phone has that capability?
PLEEEASE help. text message related...
ok, so i haven't been able to send (and possibly receive) text messages for about 5 days now. and all of a sudden a blinking icon (similar to the new message indicator that looks like an envelope) has appeared now that i've tried to send a message for the first time since, only it has a sort of 'do not enter' sign next to the icon. i've tried with no success to find what this icon means in the manual, online, through friends, etc. i can still make and receive phone calls no problem, but for some reason, i've lost all text messaging abilities. any help would be appreciated.

high SAR??
Hi,
Is it reason for concern that the SAR on the V265 (1.55 ear, 1.48 body) is higher than other Motorola phones and actually near FCC limits?
Also, it's clear competition- the LG VX-6100 has much lower SAR's (.96 ear, .60 body).
Thanks for any help on this.

High Pitched Tone in Background. Problem?
My wife's new 265 has a very high pitched constant tone in the background even when not making a call. Is this normal for this phone? Its quite annoying and distracting. My Sammys and LGs have always been totally silent.
