So I bought it last night..

Haven't have much time to play with it, but I've found 2 issues I have with it.
1. You CAN NOT use ringtones off the miniSD card regardless of what format they are in, period.
2. Voice dialing is DEPENDANT, meaning you have to train for each and every person in your contact list.
Other than that this is by far one of the best phones I've ever owned, especially when comparing interfaces. It has the same excellent menu system as the LG 6190 Fast Tap phone if you've seen one of those.
I also bought 512MB miniSD card for it and at high resolution (1280x960) thats 255 pictures according to the camera counter. Seems a bit low but I'll look into it.

Anyway if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

Accessories at Sprint Store

So I was thinking the MM 535 and a800 were not going to make it out before my broken hinge 8100 died, so I went to the Sprint Store to get the phone fixed.

What do I see on the rack but holsters for the MM-535!!! So I go to the rep and I'm like "So, I see you have the 535 holster.... Where's the phone?" He's like "Woah... I've never herd of a 535..."

Oh well, the rep's obviously not up on the incoming stock, so no inside info there... But the holsters there, so here's hoping Monday brings the phone to the PCS website!

MM-535 AAC ringtones question

As many of you are disappointed (myself included) the Sanyo 5600 seems to NOT allow transfer of homemade ringtones DIRECTLY from miniSD to phone.

Just wondering, but will the 535 be the same way? Or will it actually allow us transferring our own AAC ringtones to the phone via miniSD?

Any news of release of 535 for Sprint?

I see that all the guys in Canada got the Telus version 535 this weekend, but does anyone know when the Sprint PCS version will be in the US???? I don't know whether to get the 5600 or wait longer for the 535 - which will probably be a lot cheaper, right?

Sanyo MM-5600 vs LG MM-535

OK let's break it down. 5600 vs 535

Both will obviously be MultiMedia capapble. They both will serve as MP3 players and both have a 1.3MP camera with camcorder feature.

5600 Advantages:
1. Larger LCD Display (240x320 vs 176x220)
2. Macro Mode, Multi Shot & Stitch Shot (Panoramic) feature on camera and also allows 30 second video clips vs 15 seconds on the 535
3. Supports both MP3 & AAC Ringtones (535 only supports AAC)
4. 5600 will include a 16MB card, no word yet wether the 535 will include a card.
5. In addition to the card it comes with a MiniSD adapter to make it compatible with SD card readers. Also comes with a USB cable, stereo headphones and will support phone to printer photo printing throught PictBridge enabled printers...

MP3 Capabilities

This might seem like a stupid question to most, but i had a couple questions about the MP3 player. To my understanding its going to have a MP3 player built in. Is this MP3 player going to be like and actual MP3 player i can download full songs onto and use it just like my MP3 player right now. I understand that you can buy a mini-sd card, but i just wondered how it worked. Also if this is true that its going to have it, the battery life will be shorten considerabley from listening to it. I for one, am going to need an extended life battery!

New Car's have Bluetooth....

So far this year 17 new manufacturers are installing bluetooth capability into their new cars.... AND NO fully functioning SPRINT PHONES!!!

The Sprint reps think it is enough to just pair the phones like on a headset.... Integration is the key. We need the phone book transfer so we can truly do handsfree in the car. Only Motorola and SE seem to get it and Sprint does not carry their phones.

What happened to T-Mobile?

It seems as if LG and Samsung are dealing with Cingular and Sprint users' needs but not anyone affiliated with T-Mobile.

Am I wrong Rich Brome?

I would like to see a megapixel phone with video capture for T-Mobile.
Is there anything coming out like that for T-Mobile?

Thumb covering service provider logos on all LG pics!?

Rich,

Is it me, or does it appear like you're purposely covering up the service provider logos on all the pics of the LG phones? In all the pics, your thumb and index finger are right where the logos would be located. Just looking at the pics of the VX4700, your thumb is right where the Verizon logo would be and in the pics of the F9100, your thumb and index finger are covering the locations of the Cingular logos. I'm assuming that LG told you to do that before taking pictures but everyone already knows that the VX4700 is for Verizon and F9100 is for Cingular. The logos are also covered in the pics of the other LG models.

Memory card for MP3 player & camera??? :?

I'm not able to find anything regarding this phone's "MP3 player", other than it has one. Does that mean I can grab a 512 mb card, load up my tunes, and play them? Or is this thing just capable of MP3 ringtones or something?

Help!

And thanks!

I like the new sprint strategy

If your goin to do something GO big. As of late sprint isnt just putting out 1 or maybe 2 good phones out at most like other carriers, when released..this will be Sprints 4th megapix phone and second mp3 phone. each company has 1 megapix camera...if you count that worthless v710 verizon has..and sprint is goin to town. If the phones can keep up good quality..then sprint is doin very well.
