Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)

So FedEx just brought me my Audiovox SMT5600 🙂 and I downloaded agile messenger for it, which is awesome and I recommend BTW, and I noticed that when I am online it shows me as if I was connected to a computer not on a phone. Does this mean that I am only being charged for internet usage or am I being charged per instant message as a text message as well? I am on my company phone (I work for Cingular) so right now I could care less but for when I am on my personal it would be good to know.

Ok, I have a Dell AximX30 (bluetooth enabled) PDA that I want to transfer files to and from.

I have managed to use Infrared to transfer pics, but it takes 5-10 secs to transfer 100 kilobytes. And thats making sure they are aligned.

I was able to get the two devices to see eath other, but the PDA only wants to use the cellphone as a dialup modem.

How do I go about initiating a bluetooth file transfer from the phone to another bluetooth device?

i often travel to europe and asia. i was wondering if i would be able to take this phone to say london, paris, china and so on...and just buy one of their pre paid sim cards and pop it into the 5600 and use the phone there

Help! I have a very old sim card (read 4 years old) with phone numbers on ii, is there any easy way to copy these number into my contacts and off the sim card so I can put the new card back in the phone? Or do I have to type it all into outlook?

So I've been thinking about getting one of the Nokia pic frames...you know, the ones that receive their pics through infrared? I'm not clear on the different versions of infrared...does anyone know if this phone will specifically work with these frames? Or, if nothing else, does anyone know what versions of infrared this phone supports?

Has anyone been able to get the 5600 to access the internet through their BT connection? After a little bit of wrangling, I was able to get my ActiveSync to work via BT.

So, I think I have it set up correctly, but I don't if it's using the GPRS signal or BT when it's connecting. So, that's the crux, how do you verify?

and I am having a few problems.

I can not get my phone to turn the headset volume up loud enough to hear on a regular. It sounds really loud on my Black Berry but not on any Win Mob phone.

Is there a way to have the headset profile to stop turning on when the bluetooth headset connects.

Is there a way to block a certain group calling and just send them directly to voice mail, when I dont know you are with one girlfriend and you dont want the other one's call to come through and you get caught... Like Blacklist for the nokia 3600 series phone.

Some coworkers of mine were trying to figure out if the SMT5600 has the ability to open any attachments in email? Is this possible?

When I try to send an e-mail from my SMT-5600 using the included e-mail program, and the e-mail address has a special character in it like an underscore or a period, the e-mail immediately returns as failing due to an invalid e-mail address.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I know this phone has an Mp3 player in windows media player. My question is, does the phone itself do Mp3 ringers, or can Windows Media be set up to ring? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just curious.

Ok. I got my phone to play a .mp3 when it ring but I would also like it to play a .mp3 when I get voicemails and text messages. Any ideas i've tried putting them in that folder its a no go. Also any way to connect to a Wireless lan wiht this phone via 802.11b or g? Thanks.

Using a bluetooth headset, how does the voice dialing work and are you limted to a number of contacts. Also, if a person is calling you and you have your BT headset on and the person is in your contacts will the phone let you know who is calling. I would also like to receive my office emails on my phone is that possible with this phone. Also can I open attachements if I download the right software. Thank for any help.

I'm planning on purchasing this phone within the next month, and after reading a user review I'm a little concerned.

Is it true that the LockLine Insurance Program will NOT cover this phone?

I called the AT&T Store near me and the reps were clueless (as usual). When I called AT&T's sales number, they were clueless too.

I am having two problems syncing to my windows 2000 address book:

1.I cannot get the sync software to recognize my phone is connected via usb, I have only had this work 1 time and I don't know what I did to get it to work.

2. The one time I did get the sync software to recognize my phone was connected, it seemed to only want to sync with outlook, and all my contacts are in the plain old ms address book.

Any help or sugestions are appresicated. Thanks!

I can keylock the phone from the power button, but I was wondering can I set the phone to keylock after say 15-30 secs?
