Site to download programs?
Is there a good site to go to and download programs for this phone? Don't really care what kind, just fiddling around.
Also when you download something from a land based pc and physically transfer it over do you just go to the file in the path and hit ok or something like that?
Best wishes,
D

Windows Media Player skins
I have scoured the net and have not been able to find any skins for WMP 10 on this phone. Has anyone been able to find any? All I've been able to find are skins for WMP 10 mobile, but those are optimized for pocket PC's, not smartphones.
5600 or RIM 7100?
Hi. I have been reading this forum for months now, but this is my first post. I am looking to see if someone has experience with both these phones and the opinions as compared. I know they are different OS and that is one of my concerns. I really love how easy the MS mobile OS is, but I have had poor experiences.
I had the Samsung i600 and now have the Samsung i730 and while they are easy to use, they lock up and act VERY sluggish after a couple days not being rebooted. Is that the case with this phone? Also on the i730 I have now, the batter life is down right abysmal. Realistically, less than 24 hours of stand by while pulling email every 15 minutes. How much better battery life would this guy have under that circumstance?

Phonescoop site on my mobile....
I try to connect to phonescoop.com on my 5600 (type in www.phonescoop.com) and seem to always get redirected to the WAP version (http://phonescoop.com/wml/index.php is what shows up in the address bar) which only lets me view a very scaled-down version of "Latest News" and "Latest Phones". I would like to be able to pull up the "full-blown" site. Is there a way to stop the phone from re-directing?
Any way to increase handset volume?
I have an Audiovox SMT 5600 with service through Cingular. Both the handset volume and speakerphone seem to be extremely low, is there anyway to increase the volume? Do others that have this phone feel it is too low as well.

Modifying Start Menu
Hello Everyone:
Just bought this phone yesterday and love it so far.
Does anybody know how to modify the start menu (and the home screen for that matter) so that more frequently used programs can be listed first.
Thanks in advance.

Question re phone book.
I have recently switched from a Sony phone to a Motorola phone. The Sony allowed me to enter the phone book and punch in several letters to go directly to the listing for the person I want to call. The Moto only allows me to go to the first letter of the name and then I have to manually scroll through all the names beginning with that letter to get to the one I want. This is very time consuming.
I am thinking of getting the 5600, but I need to know if I can access names in the phone book directly like on the Sony. For instance, if I want to call "McHughes" can I punch in "mc" and go directly to the first name that starts with "mc" or do I merely get to the first name that begins with "m" and have to scroll down? Can anyone answer th...

EDGE V. GPRS
I currently have a Nokia 6230 with Cingular but I am interested in upgrading to the Audiovox 5600. I like all the features on the 5600, but have some concern about the phone not having EDGE capabilities. The 6230 was EDGE enabled so I don't want to take a step back in speed. Does anyone know if this is a valid concern, or will the 5600 with GPRS work ok. Thanks for any feedback.

Cingular firmware for A&T version of phone?
Hi All,
I bought this fine phone back on AT&T. I have since switched over to Cingular and have unlocked the phone and used the info on the 'net to change various settings which enable its use on the Cingular network.
Now that this phone is available under the Cingular nameplate, I would like to find and apply the Cingular version of the phone's firmware.
Does anyone know where I can get the Cingular version to be applied to the phone?
Thanks!
No Edge capability with the Audiovox 5600
I recently purchased the Audiovox 5600 phone from Cingular. Overall I'm pleased with the phone, but I was somewhat disappointed that it does not have Edge capability for data transfer. I changed from the Nokia 6230 which did have Edge and it was quite a bit faster on downloads. It is my understanding that none of the smartphones currently have Edge. Can anyone tell me why this is the case and if there may be an option to upgrade the phone in the future. Just seems like a step backwards in terms of design. Thanks for any information.
Modem & Active Sync
I have an Audiovox SMT 5600 w/Cingular. I have three questions. 1.) How do I, can I set up my phone to be used as a modem for my laptop? 2.) How do I rename the mobile device in Active Sync? I have two phones and two computers and I would like to be able to rename the phones. 3.) How do I get the calendar to stop duplicating events every time I sync between the two phones and computers? I end up with multiple appointments of the same item.
Does the newest release of the Audiovox SMT 5600 have edge
Could someone please tell me if newer versions of this same model number has the edge high speed download capability. The inphonics.com website and many of their sub-agents (e.g. cellphonestreet.com) say that this very phone now has edge technology. They advertise this feature on their respective websites in writing. I bought one of these phone last week and I can't see where it has edge. I asked the selling vendor and they said EDGE I must request cingular to turn-on/download for me. But I asked cingular about this they said if my phone was edge capable that it would automatically connect using edge technology and not just gprs. mine seems to be connecting to the internet with a "G". Does anyone have in information regarding this. You...
