Motorola A780

I have tried to find out how to change the wallpaper on the external screen with no luck...any ideas out there?
also, i have 4 icons on the bottom of my home screen that i want to change. the browser and real player will not be moved. wonder why? does anyone know how to change this?
Over all a grat phone...plus since I bought it in Dubai, none of that annoying cingular animation on startup.

From the browser, when trying to log onto both the Hotmail and AOL websites, I get this error message reading that the pages can't be displayed until I enable javascript and cookies. I'm confused about this. Aren't these already enabled on the Motorola A780? If not, how can I enable these features? If anyone can answer these questions, please let me know. Thanks a lot, Dave

I recently purchased this phone off ebay for $379 after shipping. I am eagerly waiting for it to come in the mail 🤣

Can I get a list of apps that will work with this phone? I cant really find any mobile apps for linux.

I also got a 256MB transflash card for $40.

Hi, I just bought this phone to use with t-mobile. Works fine but some problems:
- every day 3-5 phone calls drop after first ring and I got "missed call"
- if anyone knows internet settings for T-Mobile -- BIG THANKS
- phone do not see any Bluetooth devices
- I called to support, they said phone tot presented in USA yet and they not sure if can help me with it but I can ship to repair cenret.
Should I have to do it?

Is anyone else getting extremely slow updates? It takes about 1.5 hours to update my phone (from Outlook).

I did update MobilePhoneTools via liveupdate. It's the latest version from Moto/SW developer (BVRP?)

I am not sure what happened here. I have been using my hands free (non-bluetooth) and all of sudden, I don't hear anything from the phone without my hands free connected to the phone. It seems to me that a phone is somehow mistaken to be connected to a hands free system. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Any suggesting would be appreciated.

Little embarrassed to ask since it shows how little I know about these things. But saw the postings on the GPRS settings and connect beautifully. But I can't send or receive e-mail through the e-mail client on the A780. Says host not found when I try to access GMail and AOL. I had put in the settings that I used on other phones, but not connecting here. Does anyone out there have the settings for a phone stupid guy---or is there some other mail client I need to install to do this...Thanks

Sorry guys this may be a stupid question but is it necessary to have a media net package to use the browser or can I just pay the standard usage charges. I have been trying to connect with the settings posted here but only receive a network error message. Any help would be much appreciated

I have sever Outlook Sync Calendar problems with this phone, and was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. Also, if anyone has found a fix for it.

If I have an event in my phone that reads:

- Dinner 7pm to 9pm

Once I sync my phone with Outlook, I will have in both my phone and Outlook:

- Dinner 7pm to 730pm
- Dinner 730pm to 8pm
- Dinner 8pm to 830pm
- Dinner 830pm to 9pm

I think I understand that this is the sync software's way of making the item in the phone appear like it blocks out the time from 7pm to 9pm, but once the sync operation is performed, there are 4 separate events in my outlook AND phone!

Has anyone come across this problem, and a fix for it?

Has anyone else had a problem with the phone accidentally dialing a number and then redialing over and over again? I have auto redial off, but it still does it. Any ideas?

are you able to go through the media net menu? as for me, i am only able to load the home page and if i click on any of the links, i get an error saying "The file i.xhtml was not found." i'm pretty sure my settings are all correct. has anyone else had this problem?

What kind of video files does the a780 play I know it plays MP3s fine but I can't find what kind of file the pealplayer video plays. I've tried converting MPEGs and AVIs to every other kind of file out there, but still no luck. If anybody has any idea what file types are compatible please let me know? Thanks

Does anyone out there know how to self determine whether or not an A780 is Edge equipped or not. I know the general advertisement purports it to be Edge equipped, but I read conflicting information that there may be two versions, one with and one without. My handset originated from Singapore, with box text and user manual text, all in Asian. How can I determine if mine is Edge equipped? Thanks for any help.

Just brought the A780. When I was setting the clock, I noticed that GMT as shown in the phone is off by +1 hour. This of course creates an error in ALL city time settings and errors when I sync with Outlook Calender on my PC. Have not seen this problem mentioned in this Forum. Am I doing something incorrectly?
