Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557

anyone have any odea on what those 2 slits are for that are opposite each other on the flip. i want to say they are for sound but i dont hear anything come from them.

Can one record there own voice and use it as the ring tone on the V551?

So I have seen that the price of the phone varies from zip to zip and the discounts and rebates do to. I think that is a bunch of ****. Also the online price at different sites vary too. I think that the FTC needs to look into this price gouging. One price and discount/rebate should for everywhere!! I'm in Chicago were there are no real rebates I thnk $50 and it looks like the the phone is 149 w/ 2yr contract/ What is any one else getting??

one of my good friends got a bluetooth data tool for her V551, from her boyfriend. We were playing with it during the weekend. This bluetooth is very nice for us to manage phonebook, ringer, wallpaper all those stuff, it also let us to go to AOL by dialing up. Pretty nice one. I do not know where her boyfriend bought this gadget for her as a gift, but this little blue thing is something called ma700, comes with a blister and a software plus a lot of neat features!I try to find it from local stores but no luck. Then I called my girl friend and she told me the gadget is made in Taiwna, product name is bluetooth data suite. Anyone knows where I can find this gadget? Does it works on my Sonyericsson T637, anyone knows?

OK, so I got the v551 today and am overall very happy with it. But I'm having trouble with the file transfer with Bluetooth. I can send address entries and photos to my iBook and my husband's Sony Ericsson with Bluetooth, but I can't receive files from either one.

Do any of you who have this phone or who have had other Motorola Bluetooth phones know a way around this problem?

Does anyone know when the v551 will be in retail stores. I called cingular's sales dept. the other day and they are selling the phone for $249. I see that hellomoto has the phone for $209 but they are out of stock. Guess which one I'd rather have 😁 I'm not interested in signing another contract to get another phone. Any more web sites for a better price? NO CONTRACT!

Has anyone heard of them , how is their customer service, return policy. I never bought a phone online always from a retail store.

I went to the site, couldn't find any email or contact info. But they do have a good deal on this phone $50 after MIR. And also how is a1wireless ??

Just wondering from someone who actually owns the phone what is the appoximate talk time and standby time on the v551?

I thought the 149 price was for a 1 year contract? Altough it could be that price in my zip.

So on the Cingular site they ahve AOL messaging only can u also do others like yahoo or MSN?

For anyone that has had the v400 and now the v551 is the earpiece volume loud enough? V400 had low volume on the earpiece problems that required a hack to fix...

has anyone else been unable to view the phones and pdas on Cingular website?? I get to their home page but whne I go to look at the phones it says "this sever is temperarly down" or something to that effect. Whats the deal??

If you want to get your hands on one, check your local best buy too. Mine has it in stock for $100 after $50 mail in rebate. This of course is a 2 year contract, so online is a better deal.

I'm gonna head over tonight just so I can finally get my hands on one and see how I like it!

I am switching over to Cingular from T-Mobile but I am torn between the V551 and V600. I am finding internet retailers that still sell the V600 with a Cingular plan. I am also reading on this website and on other forums that Cingular will offer the V620 later this month or in December. Can anyone offer me their opinion on which is a better phone? I like the EDGE capability of the V551, but I don't think that it's available in my area. I personally think that the V600/620 is a more visually appealing phone compared to V551. Please let me know what you think.

Is there any way in the world to change the faceplate on this phone? I understand the specs say no, has anyone done this, please explain how. I'am in the middle of the Cingular & ATTWS trasitional period. I'am an employee & in need of a phone. Should I go with the V
