Motorola V620

I'm in desperate need of help. I'm the Middle East right now, and I've been trying to get my GPRS to work for my Mac -- either through Bluetooth or a USB connection. The settings for my phone have been properly set up (so I'm told) and I've synced up my phone using Mac's isync, which therein provides much of the data on the phone for the computer.



I've tried connecting both through the Mac Internet Connect software, and through the Motorola software that runs on my Virtual PC app. (which doesn't seem to be working since for whatever reason my Virtual PC isn't seeing my phone via Bluetooth, or even identifying the phone through the US connection). In short, I keep getting disconnected and "A modem error occured."

I don't want to pay Cingular (per KB) on the Media Net service, as it would be too expensive for emailing from an Outlook Exchange server.

When I was with Verizon, I didn't subscribe to the Internet service either, but using GET IT NOW, I was able to purchas an application that is like an email client, $4.99 a month flat fee.

With Cingular, there is something similar to GET IT NOW, I think it's called "Cool Tools." I don't see any tools that are "cool," or USEFUL.. they are for stupid directions, dating, or financial calculations..

ANYONE has an idea how I can use my phone to check email? Even with Media Net, I still can't access Outlook WebAccess HTML on a cell phone...

Does anyone know how to do a master reset on the V620, also what would the password be for it?

I just got my phone from myworldphone and I am using it on the cingular network. I have everything set up fine (gprs, mms, text messaging.. etc) except for voicemail. Every time I get a voicemail, instead of the "New Voicemail" message, I get a text message on my phone with weird characters as the sender. Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

I currently have a phone with T-Mobile. I want to get a V620 but am not sure how it would all work. If i put my SIM into the new phone will it work? Is it just the other features of the phone (besides just placing calls) that would have to be configured?

I just ordered a v620 and received a v600i. I hear they're the same phone, except the v600i is marketed to Asia. Is that really the only difference between the two?

My V600 broke (It got very wet) and i'm looking to get a new motorola. The V620 looks great and I already love the features since I had the V600. My question is whether to buy a cheap phone now and wait for the V635 or get a V620 now. By the way, I have no need for a great camera or MP3 player (I have an iPod) such as the one on the V635. The only other improvements i know about are the EDGE and the outer screen.

Does anyone know how to delete a web session on the v620? My web sessions are currently full and I need atleast one available profile to add t-zones.

Is there any way to put more memory onto these phones. Im looking for a phone with alot of memory and good quality preferrably with a video camera and mp3 playing. DOes anyone have any suggestions?

Just got my 620 from ebay and it works perfectly. I had an ATT sim. Popped it in and everything but the internet worked. Then I went to ATT's support site, put in V600 and my phone number and they send you all the mmode settings right to your phone. All I had to do was hit accept and boom, everything worked. I just downloaded the USC fight song as a MP3 Ringtone from the web!!

I love this phone, it's solid, looks great (I got lot's of comments about how good the Black looks)has great reception and the bluetooth pairs with my Acura TL perfectly.

I bought one of these wonderful phones from MyWorldPhone.com the other day and am looking to add another battery . I see that the battery in my V620 is a SNN5683A, whereas the battery for the V600 listed on the Motorola US website is a SNN5683 - no "A" designation.

Might these be the same battery, or is there a difference due to the V620 being a European released phone?

I am assuming that since the V635 was recently announced with planned availability sometime this Spring or Summer that the V620 will not be coming to a U.S. carrier.

I think the styling with the black on the inside and outside of the V620 looks so much better than the V635. Motorola launches a great phone (V635) but takes a step backwards in styling. I know I can get a V620 from an online retailer or eBay, but I am not prepared to pay $300 for a cell phone.

1. Can anybody officially confirm this phone is not coming to the U.S. and also the reason?

2. If they do come down in price as the V635 becomes available does anyone know if the V620 works well on Cingular?

Gona buy this phone unlocked soon replace my nokia 6010 that I have with tmobile. I read theres problems getin the net with this phone? can someone clear this up for me thanks.

Just bought a V620 and own a Mac. Here are some software questions...


-Is it possible to access (or synchronize) the V620 w/ Filemaker (Pro or Mobile) files -- in particular, the "contacts." If so, how so?

-Is there any Mac OS X software that's compatible w/ the V620, and would enable it to do things like file transfers, i.e., tools similarly offered in Palm Desktop?

-Would these functions, mentioned above, require the use of a USB cable instead of doing these things through Bluetooth?

😎 Hey I currently own a Motorola V220 ☹️ I am thinking of buying the Motorola V620. I need to know if anybody know's if the display on the V620 and the V551 are the same. The V620 has I think 250k color screen and the V551 65k color. Is there really a big visible difference in the screen? If so what is the difference? and are these screens the same size?

Anyone using this phone on the US Cingular network? If so, how is it working? If not, then what network are you using it on? Any info would help as I would like to buy this for Cingular's service. Thanks in advance for your help!!

In several of the online ads for the V620 I see V600i used also. Is this just a version number for some parts of the world?
