BlackBerry 7100 / 7105

We just received the new 7100t device and are experiencing a challenge. All of a sudden, the device starts to hesitate and when we turned it off then back on again... all we see is the hourglass. SO! We took the battery out... put it back in and still just the hourglass. So, we tried to do the reboot... no luck. Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so, were you able to find a solution? I've only had this device for a couple of weeks and the only solution that we are being presented with is to simply swap it for a new device... I'm hopeful there is another solution - simply one I haven't recognized. ???

So, now I have to choose between the Blackberry 7100, a Sidekick II, or a Motorola A630... Argh! 😳 I think it's gonna come down to whichever one strikes me the best when I reach the kiosk. Heheh.

Anyone know if they run another credit check when you upgrade your phone and service?

Does anyone know what is new in software version 4.0.0.198?

I installed it yesterday and don't see anything new. I did have to hide an "enterprise activation" icon on the main screen and had to redo the connection between my bluetooth headset and the 7100.

I'd like to have the ability to view jpeg attachments, which I don't think this new software offers.

Anyone with 7100 viewing attachments? I was told that I need the Enterprise Outlook software. Just want to make sure it works before I order the software.

I can't return this device to T-Mobile and get credit toward another T-Mobile unit because I used it over 30 minutes. What a crock.

Anyway, I would like to "unlock" the phone so it will be marketable on Ebay or some other auction service.

Has anyone been successful at unlocking the 7100?

I have a 7100T (unlocked) for sale. I was using it on Cingular service. All you have to do is pop your cingular sim in it and you are good to go. It brings up all the Cingular settings, the browser even changes it's name from "browser" to "cingular browser". There is nothing you have to do accept put the sim in and it will work 100%.

I'm really anxious to buy the new BB, but all my contact info is on my old palm pilot over 1K. Is there a software that I can buy that works well to transfer my palm info to the new BB? I would also really like all my memos and some of my apps transferred over! Is there any hope for me?

All I can say is that this device is definitely in the gameplan for Cingular, but an official release date has yet to be determined.

Enhanced network selection issues are temporarily holding this device back.

hi, does this phone work, with an external, preferably a) bluetooth keyboard ? If not does it work with a b) USB keyboard ?

I was particular about using an external keyboard since i'm not fond of inbuilt ones. I heard, it doesn't have any bluetooth profile other than for headphone, so prolly wont work with much gadgets ...

Hello all. I just signed up on this forum. I picked up my 7100 today. Let me know if you have questions and I can try and answer.

I've had my 7100t for a couple days and it seems the reception is about 1 bar less then with my previous phone. I have compared with a 6710 from t-mobile in my office and it seems to be a bar down. Has anyone else notices this? Just wondering if I may have a bad one.

Hi, did anyone use Antenna Booster with this phone ? Any luck.

(On my previous, Pocket PC, i used to get 1-2 bars at home, and now I get barely 0-1).

Does anyone know about a longer life battery for the 7100. The T-mobile sales person mentioned it, but since then hasn't responded. Where can I get one?

I have has the 7100t for over a week now, and its a great handset. However, today it the speaker started buzzing. It makes the sound that the old GSM phones used to make when near another phone. If i put my ear to the speaker at the back - its hissing. Never did that before.

One of my colleagues also has the phone and its been doing this all along. Anyone know how to quieten the speaker and get rid of the intermittent buzzing?

Has anyone noticed how easily the screen scratches. I kept the plastic film that come with the phone on for over a week and always, always in the case.
The day I took it off and again always kept it in the case with the screen facing in at all times and yet at the end of the first day there were scratches all over the screen. Obviously the plastic must be rather soft because I have not experienced this on any of my way too many phones and even my Blueberry.

Can you put the real music ring tones on the 7100t? Not sure what t-mo is calling them but you know where you hear a snip of a real song when it rings, lyrics and all? Thanks.
