Sure.. I had to buy PDANet and it works like a charm. I couldn't get it to work natively on Cingular's network either. They crippled the bluetooth. You can get PDANet from www.junefabrics.com

Mine is fine... The connection indicator in the PC tray says it's 57.6 but that's by default. If you go to dslreports.com you can run a speed test to see how fast your connection really is.
Remember, the more bars the faster speed you'll get. I've gotten up to 176kbps (downstream) from my cell phone. I think the most you can get is 56k upstream, so that may have something to do with it.
