Get it now, going, going, hmmm??

I am wondering if you all can access these Get It Now features....so far I can access all but these one's listed below -- I am in a non-Vcast area and I do not sub. to Mobile Web:

Under Get PIX & FLIX
- Get New Pix
------ Get New App (says no items were found)

- PIX PLACE -- access mobile web and I get an HTTP error 403 access denied message

- Get News & Info -- access mobile web and I get an HTTP error 403 access denied message

Those are the three areas...I think because I dont sub. to mobile web is why I get and error on the PIX Place and the Get News, and perhaps there are no apps under the Get New Pix section....just wondering if anyone else sees this?

How many rings to the center of your vx9800?

I'm curious how many rings you are able to load on your 9800? Mine tops out at around 23, but it depends on how long they are *I think*. I've heard from one other (lgphoneman) who said he could only fit 10. How about the rest?

MP3 Question from a Novice

Just made my purchase for the 9800, and i'm interested in subscribing to an MP3 service like Yahoo Unlimited or Napster so i can take advantage of my MP3 capabilities. Anyone have any insight on a good service selection? Pros and cons? And will i be able to directly download the songs to my 9800 from the service or will i need to make purchases for other hardware?

If my questions are better asked elsewhere, by all means point me in the right direction. 🙂

Downloading Rush Limbaugh to phone

My wife is a big fan of Rush, and on his website it says you can download his program to an MP3 player. Question: Can his program be downloaded to the mini sd card that would be plugged into the computer, and then taken out of computer and inserted in phone and listen to show? If it is possible, what additional software might I need other than the mini card? What mb size would anyone recommend? Do I need to be concerned about file compatibility between his program and what the phone would recognize? Also, would I be able to listen to program either through internal speakers or attached headphones? I know this is kind of involved, but any help woul be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

YOU CANNOT SET MP3'S OR SOUNDS AS RINGTONES!

This has been asked too many times, so I wanted to post this thread and say this one time instead of answering all the same question over and over again!

The only way that you can set MP3's as ringtones is to use a program called Bitpim:

http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/#download »

(PLEASE NOTE: Bitpim currently does not support the 9800, but will soon. When a new phone comes out it takes them a few weeks to get it in the system).

You will also need either a data cable or a Bluetooth USB adapter to connect your phone to your PC.

Thanks! Hope this answers it once and for all.

Bitpim USB or Bluetooth?

Which is working better for you all? A USB connection to the phone or via BT when connecting to Bitpim?

I ask because it will be very easy for me to go out into town and buy a BT dongle, but will have to mail order the 8100 cable for the 9800.

Thanks...

Bluetooth to a PC

I've read through the threads and I'm not convinced there's no way to connect the 9800 to a PC.

I have a Belkin USB bluetooth adapter. It's hot and discovery is on. I have the BT power hot on the 9800. The handset can see the computer, but when I go to pair the devices and enter the passkey (what i think is "0000") it say's "Failed to Pair." Also, I've tried to search for the device from the PC (Devices>Add>Search) and nothing is found even when the phone can see the computer.

I've even poked around the service menu and turned on and off the BT DUN mode.

Anyone have any luck pairing the 9800 to a PC? Or know if the passkey is something other than 0000? Your help and input is appreciated. Thanks!

Cool But Frustrating!

This phone looks and has ALL of the features that I have been looking for plus, it is from a very good and reputable brand...one of the best.

However, knowing Verizon, all the cool features will be crippled which REALLY PISSES ME OFF! 👿

I wish Verizon will finally wise up and make their customer base even stronger by enabling all of their phones features when they arrive from the factory, or whereever! 😉

Sandisk 1 gig MiniSD problems

I have read all of the threads and have formatted my 1 gig sandisk MiniSD card correctly. I then put a few mp3's and 2 pictures on the card using the USB card reader I had just purchased and powered off my phone inserted the card and powered it on. Everything worked just fine so I powered off the phone inserted the card into my USB reader again and added more mp3's. This time I tried to access the mp3's once the phone was powered on and the phone reset. Same when I tried to access a picture saved on the memory card. Then I reformatted the card the same way as the first time and tried just one mp3 and nothing else, powered the phone off and then on again and once again the phone reset. I tried various methods since that always reformatt...

Read .pdf files and Free Web browsing

Hey,
Three questions:
Does anyone know if you can view .PDF files on the 9800?

And, what is it I hear about the free web browsing? Is this true? If so, can someone please write me about free web access?

Also, how is the video quality on the 9800 phone? I converted an episode of Lost to the correct format, but the quality was very poor; choppy video and a lot of pixelation. Are there ideal setting when running the conversion?

Thanks.
