Nokia 6270

Please advise me if it is possible to set password for reading SMS on Nokia 6270? May be there is such a program which can do this?

Hi everyone. I need some help. I just bought this phone and I just can't get into it. I fond all the features difficult to use, whenever I sent text messages my recepients complain of garbled up messages, when I talk, I can't hear myself (with the Motorola flip phone or a regular home telephone, I could hear myself in the phone. With this phone it's like I'm talking into the air, so I'm constantly rasing my voice) There is no visible call length counter, so when I'm roaming I can't check to see my seconds and minutes, until after I'm done the call. I find the phone big. Anyone, can you give me a reason why I shouldn't take this this back, or maybe recommend something more towards what I'm looking for? Thanks

ive read on numerous forums about how there is an innate problem with the voicemail indicator- that a blank text message is received when a new voicemail is left or when one is deleted. the phone doesn't process it correctly so the voicemail indicator just stays lit.

anyone else having this problem or have a fix?

I have a weird issue. I have the 6270 on t-mobile and whenever I check my voice mail, I receive a blank text message. Whenever someone leaves me a voice message, the VM symbol does NOT appear, but I receive a blank text message. It's really more of an annoyance than a major problem, but its burning up my text messages. Of course I called t-mobile and they don't want to help with the 6270. Any of your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not particularly concerned with the VM icon issue, although it is disappointing and annoying. I have the German model with Firmware version 3.53. What I have found is that every now and then (rarely but often enough to be a concern) it completely drops the signal; loses its mind. The "bars" drop to nothing and the GSM Carrier logo goes away. This has nothing to do with the actual signal available in the area. The only way to fix this is to power cycle the phone. I have missed a few incoming calls because of this. I have not been able to correlate the problem to any specific action or reaction to an interaction with the phone. This is very un-Nokia like.

My car has a blueooth receiver that is plugged into my car stereo.

Is it possible for me to play music from my 6270 through this?

I can make/answer calls via my car bluetooth receiver, but I cannot seem to get it to play music through it - any ideas?

Since it registers with my car bluetooth receiver as a "headset", I cannot use the option on the 6270 phone that says "Play via Bluetooth" and if I play music without this option, it does not play through my car stereo! 🙂

Hi.. I had this phone for the past 2 mnths, and for some reason the charging IC stopped workin.. i gave it to a guy to repair and he had it for a couple of weeks and then told me that the network IC was not working as well..

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I just purchased a nokia 6270. I was browsing through a couple of forums and saw your message. I have a couple of questions:

- I find the ring tone too soft, although it is already adjusted to maximum

- how do I just the text date and time- I noticed that whenever I receive a text message, and I check the details of the text in the inbox, I noticed that the date and time is wrong... How do I adjust this?

- under profiles:
- what does voice options mean?loud speaker? Headset? Do not disturb?
- what is a notification tone?
- what is call back tone?
- what is im alert tone?

Nokia has finally come out with the long awaited quad band product. if this gets released through a carrier , i dont know what would stop nokia now. they have the best phones. they only have problems in the US because people buy with their eyes and not with their head.
