PPC-6700 Won't Display Email Hyperlinks

My wife has owned a PPC-6700 for a few months now and, whenever she receives a message with embedded Hyperlinks, they don't display on the screen when she opens the email. (As a talent agent she gets a lot of role descriptions and audition requests this way so it's important for her to have this working).
She can link successfully to a website if the sender types out the full URL – and I've been able to set the device up to send and receive attachments (mostly PDF files in her case) – but I can't get it to display Hyperlink text.
The UTStarcom online tech support people have been largely useless (once they confirmed I had the latest ROM update they wrun...
