6700 hanging up when opening e-mail from Inbox

Several times a day when I am trying to open an e-mail from my Inbox a small square pops up in the center of the screen and sits there spinning for 3-5 minutes. Eventually it goes away and the e-mail client appears hung. This is a new 6700, only Skype & IM client loaded (and it was doing this before I loaded either of them). Any ideas?

Unable to Wireless Sync while in cradle

When I place the XV6700 in the cradle I lose the ability to have the phone wireless sync. The icon at the top of the phone changes from one with arrows and a small 1x box to a larger 1X (without the arrows). I have disabled Activesync in the Wireless Sync progam on the the XV6700. I have disabled the USB connection on my Activesync on my PC. Disconnecting the USB cable from the cradle does work, but I'm trying to avoid plugging and unplugging.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Anyone gotten ICQ to run on this phone?

I loaded the ICQ version for PocketPC, runs fine but gives me an error when it tries to validate. It appears to Connect, then says validating, then I get "The session was lost. Check your internet connection.". Any ideas? I'm not using Wi-Fi, this is through the default Verizon setup for Internet access.

Thanks!

PS - Still trying to figure out how to beam multiple/all contacts to my car (bluetooth) instead of one at a time.

Ring options?

We are thinking of buying a few of these phones for work and need to know if this is possible.

We want the phone to ring only for a small group of numbers and text messages. Also could the group be an area code?

ALL other numbers we would want it to go to voice mail without rining.

Thanks,

Yahoo IM?

Has anyone tried using Yahoo's Messenger (mobile browser version) on the xv6700? I've gone to mobile.yahoo.com and it takes me around in circles.

Is it possible to download Yahoo Messenger onto the phone?

active sync exchange setup

I'm having trouble setting up Active Sync 4.1. I can't figure out what to enter for the server name. It gives a clue that it's the same as using Outlook exchange (mine is lw-oc.com) I tried lw-oc, lw-oc.com, and others with the help of Verizon PDA support, but none worked. Verizon guy helped far beyond what he was supposed to - they don't do software - but he hadn't ever set this up.
I'm sure this is very simple. Any help appreciated !

Hack to enable DUN for laptop over USB or Bluetooth

Hi all,

I found this info on pdaphonehome.com and thought I would pass it along:

This enables Bluetooth to work for Dial Up Networking from your laptop to a Verizon XV6700 phone. Here is the entire link to the thread of this and other hacks:

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6488 ... »

Procedures for DUN over Bluetooth:

1. Go to the PHONE application
2. ##3328873
3. enter code 000000
4. Select BT DUN
5. Click Edit
6. Choose enable
7. Select WMODEM
8. Click Edit
9. Choose enable
10. Push Save / OK
11. Push Ok
12. follow the prompt to restart your device

Enjoy!!!

VZW--XV6700--MMS using Wi-fi

Friends,

another situation. Since sending out MMS(picture/vidoes) takes a EVDO connection, is there a way to trick it to use to send with my wifi connection. I have disabled the EVDO so i will not try to dial me in(cause i don't want to pay as you go KB). Would there be a way i could fool it and send them when im on a Wi-fi connection

Any recommendations on best case ?

How about it, I've seen a lot of leather cases, some fancy ones for more than $50. But personally I prefer aluminum, anybody seen one that'll fit the 6700. I've googled this, and the only hits I get are for the blackberry or the 6600....

Any help would be appreciated. I trash leather cases pretty fast... 😈

PPC 6700 Problem

So my phone thinks it has a voicemail...

Only thing is, I don't have a voicemail. I even called my voicemail a few times to try and have it clear it (worked on my old Sanyo), and that doesn't work.

I eventually thought a soft reboot would work too, negative.

WTF? When you click on "Notificaton" and it says you have a voicemail, you click "Dismiss" and it doesn't go away completely...

I guess I can wait it out, but how annoying.

And one more thing, if you read the notification, it says "You have 1 new voice message(s)"... isn't that kinda dumb? If you have 1 voice message, why include the "(s)"? If you have more than 1 voice message, why not put an "s" in there, without the brackets? Thats some pretty simple programming...

Verizon Bluetooth problem

Since I got my 6700 in January I've had problems with the unit dropping the connection to my BT headset. I've tried several headsets and it still does it even after a hard reset and running "stock" with no additional installed software.

Today I spent an hour waiting in line at a Verizon store today to speak with tech support. The guy told me that they have had 6 or 7 people in their store alone complain of their 6700's dropping the connection to their headset. I got the 800# for warranty and he said they will replace the unit for me, but it's probably going to do the same thing until they come up with a software fix for the problem.

He also said that Verizon was having the same problem with their RAZR phones, but a software fix was re...

XV-6700 always connected datawise?

I was just looking at getting the XV-6700 from verizon. I asked them if I wasn't using the unlimited data plan for a while if I could cancel that part. The salesman said that would be a bad idea as it would incur huge costs since the phone is always communicating with the data part of the network. Is this true? Is it possible to only use it Wi-Fi if I want, or not use those functionalities at all? Been searching for these answers but yet to find anything.

Thanks for any help...

USB On The Go (USBOTG) Capability?

I see the USB connector is not a USB mini B type connector, which is on most USB slave devices. It's a USB AB type, which indicates it might also be a host.

I have an iRiver H300, which has a connector like this. In one mode, it talks to Windows Media as a USB slave. In another, it can talk to my camera to download pictures to the disk.

Any one know if there's a registry hack (or program) that will turn the usb port into a master? It'd be nice when traveling to access USB devices. (Like my h300, to play movies, etc).

I have the Verizon XV-6700.

Please HELP with Wireless Sync via PC Monitor (Outlook)

So I'm running the PC moniotor option to push my outlook e-mail to my xv-6700, but it is working terribly. I really like the phone but will return it at once, if I cannot get this resolved. Here are my problems (1) e-mails are not pushing consistently. Sometimes they push, most times they don't. No rhyme or reason that I can tell; (2) my calendar NEVER updates, I've checked my settings and my calendar is scheduled to push (let alone update when I initiate a wireless sync) and it does not. Has anyone had experience with this or advice on how to handle?
