UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

I have installed Microsoft Voice Command on my 6700 and have made the necessary hack to activate VC using my BT headset. However when receiving incoming calls VC does not go to my headset. Is there a hack for sending VC incoming calls to my BT Headset?

When you use a PPC-6700 with SuperTooth and Microsoft Voice Command what button do you push to get the phone's attention that you are about to issue a voice command? Does this combination work well in a car? I am thinking of buying all three items this week and can't figure out how Voice Command works with SuperTooth. Thanks for your comments. Bill

Ok so in Call History ... if it is a call you made today you see the time the call was made.

If you the call was made before today you see the date.

So what if I want to see what TIME I made a call 5 days ago?

Is there any way to see that?

My boss has an XV6700 telephone with Windows Mobile 5 (5.1.1700 build 14355.0.1.1). There is 49.45MB remaining on the unit. The ROM version is 1.0.5.00 WWE (10/11/2005). The HW version is 0041.

We are trying install MobilePDR application onto the device. At one point in the installation, it asks to follow the installation instructions on the XV6700 (PocketPC) device. It then asks if the program should be installed on the device or on the storage (MiniSD) card. The SD card is in the phone, properly formatted, etc. When trying to install to the card, the installer complains with an error, saying to try a different destination.
If installing to the device, then the installer says there is not enough memory (now it shows that there...

I am wondering how, if there is a reg. edit or way to change the preloaded subjects when making an appointment so I can use the drop down menu to pick from my own personalized frequent emgagements. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey... I'm having a problem finding this 'PHM Registry Editor' online. I find like a million listings from Goolgle.Com, but the few links I find don't seem to be working any longer. Does anyone have the Exact Link that I'll need for this? Or is there a better Registry Editor out there?

How do you shut the phone off? I just got it last night and couldn't figure out how to shut it off so the battery died? I press the button at the top but it just makes the screen get dark.

Okay, so I've never owned a SmartPhone/PDA before, so it's gonna take me a while to use/understand all the funtions of this device. However, there are a few MAIN questions I have before I purchase this phone...

1.) Will I be able to watch movies on this phone?

2.) What 'Vision' plan should I go with? I keep seeing mixed questions AND answers about this subject...

3.) Is it really worth $400? I'll be using this for a phone, MP3's, Videos, E-Mail, Scheduler... and a few other things. I know that there are cheaper phones out there that offer most of these options, but I LOVE 'high-tech' gadgets, ya know?

just about every reviewer points out that the sliding keyboard seems pretty suspect or that they don't have much faith in it's durability.

for those that have the phone, do you share the same sentiment, or has anyone run into the problem of actually breaking the keyboard already?

My Bluetooth headset and Treo 650 used the same travel charger. This was super convenient. Can anyone recommend a stereo Bluetooth headset that uses the same charger as the PPC-6700

I have unchecked every item but one under menus for the Start menu items, yet there are 10 icons present. Is there another way to limit the number of icons on the Start menu. I am using WM5 on a PPC6700 for Alltel.

I also have a second question. Is there a good screen/button lock program for this phone. I am using MortSaver, but it does not lock all the buttons.

Ok I was thinking about buying this phone but had a few questions. I will not be using the unlimited data plan, i have no need for it, i want mainly the planner, bluetooth,camera, text. My question is about the wifi. I have a wireless router at my house that i use my laptop with. My question is can i use that wireless servcie in my house to connect this to the internet at no cost when i am at home? I saw in another thread there is a way to set the phone so the phone and wifi will work at the same time? is that correct. So basically i will just use it as a phone, but when i am at home i would like to hook up to the web at no cost through my exsisting wireless router and have the phone still receive calls and text while i am using that functio...

Hi guys, I remember on older phones you used to have a 'Disconnect' button if you were using a dial-up connection for internet on PDA phone. XV 6700 does not have that, is there a way to enable 'Disconnect' button? I read about this yesterday, but i can't seem to re-locate this post!Thanks averybody!

Is anyone aware of program that will give bigger dial buttons for the phone. i have fat thumbs and have not been very successful at dialing quickly due to that.

also anyone know of where to get a good hard holster? i saw an earlier thread but it never directed the final link to the location.

Just got the phone today and it looks great. I have been reading teh thread for weeks and couldnt make up my mind if i should get it, but i got it. I just wanted to know if someone could help me find stuff for this phone. EX: backgrounds, games, cool programs and hints on how to make this phone better. and also if there are hack to this phone that I can use.

I currantly have a phone plan with 500 minuets & the 4.99/month add on mobile web. Can I buy this phone & use it on my current plan, (talk & use mobile web) With out changing to an expensive data plan? I don't need to use email, just the web browser & phone. Can I just buy the phone & switch the ESN without getting crazy charges? If so, is there any special settings I need to make? Please Help... 😕

Have anyone been able to successfully get active sync to work on a pc that has W2K? I installed that software and even upgraded to ver 4. I've tried syncing through the usb port as well as the cradle and the device is not being recognized. I contacted Sprint and stayed on the phone with them for an hour and still cannot seem to get active sync to work.

HEy all still thinking of buying this device but I am a little frustrated I was using the device today and came to find out you cannot go on websites and sign in with a pasword and user name. So for instance any website that has a java script, or ssl, or some type of login security to the site you cannot view or get into with the base programming for the 6700. So how do I get around this. I want to be able to log into all of these sights ie " bank sight, ebay, secure" ?????
