Does anyone know how to do a hard reset and completely and permanently clear the information in the device?

press the red /power button and hold it down press the reset button in the back. Release the red/power button when the treo logo comes on. Good luck try it.

Take the battery out
Hold the red button down and put the battery back in
Release the red button and follow the screen
It should be like the 650 at that point.
