Palm Treo 700w / 700wx
Ok, So I picked up a 700w - Here are my thoughts...
Ok, so I picked up my 700w from a local kiosk - long story short, I got it at a steal especially considering I wasn’t even due for an upgrade.
I was so excited to finally get up to speed about never being out of touch from my business, that I actually sat in my car for about 45 minutes, setting up an email account. Setting it up was a piece of cake, relative to some of the problems I found later on.
All the basic functions, ActiveSync, Files (excel, word), Comcast email, Web based email...

Also, don't have it check every 1 minute. You will overload your phone. Try every 15 or so.
The problems are not with the treo. Gmail's POP3 capability is VERY flawed as you will read in the gmail forums.
I figured out a "go around" for the distribution list problem, for now. It is a bit of a pain, but it seems to work. Here's the step by step...
Set it up:
1 - create a simple contact in Outlook
2 - copy/paste all the email addresses you want into the 'notes' field using a semicolon (;) in between each address
3 - synch your device to you computer
To use:
1 - create a new mail message on your device
2 - go to that simple contact you just made
3 - go to the notes section, and copy all the addresses
4 - paste the addresses in the address field of your new mail message
5 - finish as normal
This seems to work for now and defnitely is better than ...

I have my gmail forwarded to a seperate gmail account that I named david.mobile@gmail.com (mine, for instance is david@gmail.com, not the real address, but we'll use it for this). I then have that forwarded to my sprintmail account to notify me when I have an email. The reason I have the mobile email is because once the email is checked with Versamail, I can't download it at home. If it works using outlook for both, you don't need it.
The reason I'm using the notification thing is so I can have it check my email every 2 hours, but I can manually check it if it's something important. This helps with batte...
