Unless you are a big PalmOS user then the 700 walks all over the 650.

The 650 is your only option if you are a mac user. Also, though I have said this in other places, keep in mind that when the 700w, and maybe the 7650 as well, is in data mode, calls go right to voice mail. At least in our 1x area.

Mac users may have the option to use this phone.
The MISSING SYNC may work on the treo 700w. (if they ever release it.)

I am not familiar with Missing Sync. I currently use PocketMac for Blackberry and it syncs what I need (calendar, address book, notes) between my Blackberry and Powerbook with no option.
Though I used PC's for 20+ years (remember DOS?) I am not a fan of Microsoft products, which, obviously includes Windows Mobile.
As I said before, a big turnoff to me with the 700w, and perhaps other Treos is that when it is in data mode, calls go to vmail. This is no good, at least for me.

Was talking with a VZW rep last week and she strongly hinted that the Palm OS version of the Treo 700 will likely be unveiled soon, before the Q.

That's good news and I appreciate the info. For me, based on what I have observed with my son's 700w, there are still 2 big areas of concern.
1) When in data (email) mode, the phone goes right to vmail. This may not be a problem for many, but to me, this is huge!
2) On my tMobile Blackberry, since they don't use the old Blackberry Web Client any more, when I send a message, I can choose which one of my accounts to send the message from. From what I see with the 700w, this is possible, but it is not seamless and transparent.

The 700w sucks. It's a horrible phone. Sure you can do all the "cool stuff" like have Internet radio and TV streaming, the former of which works OK. But with 32MB of RAM the phone is a dog. After a little while the phone slows down repeatedly and it will take forever just to do simple stuff. Really horrible. The 650 is a dream.

I left the 650 for the 6700. The 700w was my 2nd choice. To me, they're the same thing in a different shell minus the wi-fi of the 6700 and the higher memory of the 700w.
