When closing an application, does it really close or you have to manually close from the task manager?

Unless you have some 3rd party software... You have to close it... Hold the OK button down for 3 seconds and the task manager comes up...
This phone is extremely short on usable memory... Almost worthless.. But, I love it.. Don't plan on using more than one application at a time..
