E61 needs HSDPA
This phone needs HSDPA. Once it has it, it will kill everything around it. EDGE is not good anymore for me. It is ok for e-mail, news, but not enought to watch TV (via sling box-like device, not mobiTV). EV-DO speeds allow it with no problem, but I hate VZW.
HSDPA needs to come to this phone SOON!!!!!!!!!

Will be available with Cingular in September!!!!
I just got done visiting with our Nokia rep and the E61, which is actually the E62, will be available in Sept. They do not know the pricing yet but it will prove to be a formidable opponent to the RIM devices as well as the Q.

Help Wanted: What to look for when buying a Nokia E61
First, my thanks to all those who made so many informative posts regarding the various phones. I have been "on the fence" between a N80 and a E61. I decided on getting the E61 as I already carry a camera all the time (Minox) and the full keyboard / large screen match how I plan to use the phone.
MY QUESTION IS: How do I determine that the phone is "up to date"? What BIOS - serial # - Software Revision Level - etc. should I be looking for AND PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to find these values as I probably would be buying from a CraigsList local person who would deliver. I want to be able to put the "must be's" in an email to someone selling the phone AND be able to verify that they are actually in the unit in front of me.
I have ordered a T-M...

Nokia E61 Bluetooth
I just got a E61, and so far love it. I am trying to find out if any other owners have had bluetooth not work with headset. I am using a Jabra 250V,sometimes it works, other times all functions work, but no sound when on a call ??
Any help appreciated.
NOKIA E61 - WLAN Problem
I got the phone and using it with Tmobile in Miami FL area. All seems to be fine with exception of WLAN. According with manual, i have to go to SETTINS, CONNECTIVITY, WLAN and turn it on or off. However, when in CONNECTIVITY, i do not see WLAN Icon.
Do i need to flash the OS in order to get that? or is there any other tricks? I played with this phone for 2 days already and even asked for a friend to do so. Both unable to get it to work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Need help viewing jpg file on E61
Why can't I open a jpg file (email attachment)? It says: unsupported document...
I was able to open excel file with no problem. By the way, love this phone. Blackberry Connect on this works great! The retail shop in Beverly Hills can help set it up for you. 310.276.0115
Poor IMAP implementation
I purchased this phone and then returned it based on the poor implementation of IMAP in the email application. Issues I found were as follows: 1)Retreival via IDLE does not work consistently, 2)difficult to directly maneuver to a folder (ie, directly open the folder from the email button), 3)inability to save "sent" and "deleted" message to their server folders, and 4)couldn't get the phone to retreive anything but the headers without actually opening the message (most programs will have a download feature that limits the number of bytes downloaded until requested).
Anyway, just thought I'd pass on my experience. The form factor was great and the browser was pretty good. However, for me proper use of IMAP uis important so...

When is this available and who will Carry it?
Hi;
I've been waiting for the Moto Q, but am discovering that it doesn't have WiFi or high speed DUN. You can connect at the lower speed, but even then Verizon charges for it.
So I'm thinking of waiting for the E61. Any idean when this will be available, how much it will cost and who the carrier will be?
Thanks in advance!

First true world phone?
This is the first phone I've seen that includes quad band GSM with 2100MHz WCDMA. 2100MHz WCDMA is the only flavor of GSM available in Japan and Korea. I've seen some tri-band GSM phones, but you'll have coverage problems in the U.S. without the 850MHz band.
True world coverage plus it'll connect to my firm's Blackberry system. Once the price comes down, I'll be getting one. OTOH, I may wait until they make a quad band GSM with dual band 1900/2100 3G phone.
