Motorola Q

where can i find a free program with aol aim 4 my phone thanks.

I have about 7,000 contacts in Outlook on my PC that I have synced with my Motorola Q.

1) Is there a way to tell if all 7,000 have synced?

2) Performance in general seems very slow.

3) When I open Contacts and type the first few letters of a contact it will take 30 to 60 seconds for all the relevant contacts to load. This is incredibly slow.

Would it be faster to load the contacts on a miniSD card? If so any idea how I can do that?

Can Windows Mobile 5.0 just not handle this many contacts? Seems like a serious shortcoming...

Hello all. Currently own a Treo 650 and love it with the exception of the bulk. Thus contemplating the moto Q despite no touch screen which I feel very convenient. My main question is then "Does the Q support threaded SMS?"

Which display is better? I was really wanting the palm treo 700w but then realized that I could get the Motorola Q for $200 or $300 LESS!!! I only want this for a phone and a pda.

I really need to know if one display is any clearer or larger!

So here's the deal. I hope no one gets mad that I am posting this.

I worked at a company that gave us no internet access. So I needed the Q to access the web. I recently changed jobs and now have access to the net. I can't stomach paying $45 just for internet on my phone anymroe. I am going to be downgrading to the razr again.

This phone is on ebay now for only $79, so you might get it for a good price. Or if anyone has a new razr (the silver and black one) I would trade straight up.

This Q comes with original receipt. Is in great condition, no flaws, no scratches that I see. Desktop charger, regular and extended battery, and protective skin.

So im thinking about getting the Q. I currently own a LG VX9800, and although ive been happy with it, i would like a phone with more versatility. Is there a market out there for 3rd party applications on the Q. For example instead of paying 10$ a month to have gps directions with my 9800 is there an app for the Q that does it for either a one time cost, or better yet nothing? And while on that thought, are there just programs in general that you can download via internet and load to the Q from a USB cable? Without using get ripped now? Im talking weather apps, sports updates etc...

and lastly how much is the chepest data package per month?

I'm interested in getting a Q.

I want my next cellular to do 3 things

1. Be a phone, with bluetooth access
2. enable me to keep my calendar straight
3. allow me to keep track of my mileage and expenses

Will the Q allow me to do those three things?

I know this is a very picky point, but I still felt compelled to mention it.

There are TONS of commercial phone numbers out there which you know by the words, rather than the numbers (ie: 1-800-FLOWERS ; 1-800-MATTRES - leave off the last "s" for savings 😁 )

I was in the airport last week and I wanted to get my Wall Street Journal delivered to my hotel room for the next few days instead of my home address (they'll do that for you if you call 1-800-JOURNAL and request it)

Well - you should have seen me at the airport gate with my eyes closed trying to visualize the keys on the telephone and spelling "JOURNAL" on my Q.
It's really not a big deal - but I still think somebody at Motorola should have had the foresight to have put a sm...

So I have seen a few people on PS looking to unload thier Q's and I have wanted to check this phone out since it was launched. I have the v3c with the new s/w version 04. If anyone wants to trade for my razr - no scratches, dings, screens are perfect shoot me an email wjones@uat.edu

Just checking if someone might be interested in doing this. I have the Q, and it is past my 30 days. I am strongly considering getting the Razor and selling my Q on ebay. Works fine and looks good. Just wishing I had a smaller phone. I don't use all of the other stuff on the Q.

Has anyone else had an issue with the center button on the directional pad becoming a "touch" button????

Mine started doing that a few days ago, and it's still doing it.

Also, when I hit the Start Button soft key on the left, and then try to hit up or down on the directional pad, the Q starts opening applications, like the internet and the calendar.

Anyone else run into this problem?

Anyone know of a way to delete all my txt messages in one shot instead of going through them all individually. There is no delete all option?

I recently saw an anti-virus company advertising a software suite for smartphones.

I'm wondering - are viruses a real concern for the Q? I've installed a ton of 3rd party apps - and I believe that most are reputable - but would it actually be possible for any to infect my Q?

if infected - what could they do?

is this a real concern?

Does anyone know of a site that has games that are compatible with the Q? I have tried a couple of sites, but none of the games I've tried to put on the Q seem to work.

Now I realize the Q wasn't really meant for games, but on those long trips it's nice too have something other than my Ipod for entertainment.

Last night, I upgraded to the most recent firmware revision, and now the battery life indicator icon located in the top right corner of the screen constantly indicates that my battery is dead (empty battery icon with X over battery). I have checked under power management (Start -> Settings -> Power Management), and it indicates I have a fully charged battery. Also note that the main battery life under power management does go down as I use the phone, but the battery indicator icon on the home screen never changes. Has any else experienced this issue after upgrading? If so, how was it fixed? Is reapplying the upgrade an option?

Ok, so i just traveled from Eastern to Central time but my phone is still on Eastern time. Tried rebooting etc. but its seems like the phone is not syncing its time with the Verizon network. Also, i cannot see anywhere in the seeting where i can instruct the phone to automatically take time and date from the network. This is so biizarre that I have to manually change the time

Any advice?
