Motorola Q

Although I absolutely love the Q's form factor I cannot seem to get comfortable with the navigational requirements versus my Treo 650. I think the Q is a great device but unfortunately, as a treo user, I have not been able to turn the corner. I have a like new Q I would consider trading for a VZN Treo 700p.

i am sure that if I had the Q first that i wouldn't be complaining so please forgive me for those that are Q fans - I mean no disrespect. i simply had to conduct my due diligence and see if indeed the Q would fit my needs. Thus far, form factor as I thought would be, is not my major issue. The forthcoming Treo 680 and 750 are interetsing yet retain some bulk. The touch screen and battery is the major culprit I believe.

Does anyone know if you can view and edit excel docs on this device? I saw that you can view word docs but not edit them, but what about excel. This is a must for me, and will be the deciding factor in buying one! Thanks for your help anyone who has it and has done it!

Hey, I currently have a razr (It's ok). But I want a phone (thinking Q), that can be used as a graphic organizer (Keep homework assignments), I want it to be thin, Memory Slot, long battery, good camera, fast ui, and I guess e-mail is important (I have roadRunner and yahoo). I don't know if the numbers that are on the keyboard will bother me. Does it bother you guys how the numbers are in a column like that? Maybe it just needs a taking to get to. Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to know if anyone out there has had any trouble opening attachments in hotmail via msn mobile. When I click on my message it shows the attachment, but when I open the message I don't know where to view the attachment. Please help.

I have the Motorola 850 bluetooth and it has always connected once I flipped open the boom. All of a sudden, when I turn on my bluetooth, it does not recognize it. It is quite a pain to have to go to bluetooth manager and connect it. I do not know why this is happening all of a sudden!

ok, im on the family shared plan with my family. my dad is the primary number, im secondary and we just qualified today for discount upgrade pricing....i upgraded the phone using my visa card, not my dads, and it went through and everything, but it never asked me about a data plan or anything...im wondering, is it not necessary anymore or is it just going to tack itself onto the bill and i dont have to worry about it??? im sort of worried now something wont work...i really wanna get this new phone asap as my old motorola flip phone is on its last legs...prob dosent have more than a week left in its life.....

Hello - I just bought the moto Q and signed up for the 10MB per month data plan from VZ. I want to know if this is enough to do the follwing:

1) Browse websites, no movie downloads etc
2) send SMS and IMs
3) Check company emails (quite a few emails but i will not be downloading the attachments to the PDA). Just reading and replying to emails

Do you think i need more than 10MB?

Any opinions are appreciated

I am sure I am not the only one in this situation but I own a load of itunes music but it wont play on my q. I there any music download site that will allow my to put my music on both devices, ipod and Motorola Q??

Hey everyone I wanted to know what everyone thought of the Q. I currently have one but was given a chance to trade it for a BB 8703e. I like the Q and the features but it does have a good amount of problems. I have a few days to decide but wanted to get some thought first.

👿 mY COMPUTER WENT INTO MASTER RESET MODE, AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GIVING ME THE OPTION TO SAY YES OR NO BUT IT DOESNT LET ME PUSH ANYTHING, IT WONT LET ME TURN IT OFF EITHER, THEN WHEN I TAKE OUT THE BATTERY AND TURN IT BACK ON, THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE? OR DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT?

Any truth to the information I heard that the next firmware upgrade will allow the Q to be used as a modem and now allow the WIFI capabilities of the phone to be used with a mini SD WIFI card? Regards, Tom

How could I tell if I have the newer software? My phone has been great so far. Only had it go to a blank screen once and had to take out the battery (hope I dont jinx myself! 😉 ) Just curious how to make sure I have the newest software.

I had a problem with my Q, & got another one...Now I cannot stop the programs from automatically running, such as the email, and text features...I removed my yahoo email because it kept poping up. now, either the text messaging is in the list of running programs or the outlook is running...

ITS RUNNING MY BATTERY DOWN!!!

I want to use the Q as a phone/email device...as well as using the calendar and contacts (I am a radio show producer).

Are these the right reasons for getting a Motorola Q phone?

I'm using CloneDVD to rip a DVD and move the video file to the SD card in my Q.
Which video file format should I be creating when I rip the dvd? I can't seem to get an .avi file to play with the windows media player on the Q (?)

I've had my Q for about 2 months now and I barely use it for anything, just a regular phone. Last week, my center key (the one in the middle of the arrows navigating pad)got jammed and my phone is now randomly selecting calls and texts and programs unless i lock my phone.

I was wondering if anyone experienced the same problem and what you did/ or who you contacted about it...

I tried to send a photo the other day and after a few minutes , it did get sent but didn't show up in my e-mail box on mycomputer for 10 minutes . Then I tried to send another photo and I cannot get it to go.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?
